@TheAntennaSource ... I was checking out your website last night. I don't necessarily need or want a stubby antenna, just a shorter one that doesn't smack my garage opening, but still want good reception. Any suggestions for something like this, or is the stubby as good as some of the others you sell?

I would recommend our 21" antenna. ( https://www.amazon.com/AntennaMasts...00SAB9H96/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 ) We have recently gotten in 21" antennas with a wire wrap like the factory antenna. This is to prevent any wind noise or whistle at highway speeds. Since we just received these in I would give a call to make sure you get the new version.

Thanks Zach. I cut my stock antenna down, I'll have to go see how long 21" is.

My reception has gone down a bit in a certain area of town.. Enough that it cuts in and out.

21" is a good 6" shorter than OEM antenna. I think I'll go with that one. Reception will be better than the stubby? But not as good as oem? Also what's the deal with the FUBA style antenna?@TheAntennaSource

I ordered my 6 3/4" yesterday based on this thread and now I learn that it will be updated in a few months for a better version.....doh! Oh well, I rarely listen to the radio anyway.

Feel free to PM me. This antenna does have a guarantee so if it is not working in your specific location for the radio station you like, we can work on a return for a full credit.

I believe the factory antenna is 31" in height. The 21" antenna will perform a little better than the stubby, not far off from the factory antenna. The fuba style antennas are just a different appearance option, length for length they will work the same as the spring steel antennas.

No worries, the current 6 3/4" is pretty dialed as mentioned in this thread. I was referring to minor changes internally to components of the antenna to maybe help retain fringe/distant radio stations.

Installed my 6 3/4" stubby this week. I can't tell any difference. I do live in the metro Houston area. Haven't had a chance to drive out of town and see how it works in the outskirts of town.

Any feedback on how these have held up?
Some prick destroyed my stock antenna and I'm looking to replace it with one of these.

I recently purchased the 21” antenna. Works great and as important, no longer whacking the top of my garage door.

Might be ok if you have a strong signal, but my signal was weak to begin with and now listening to the radio is intolerable. But not snagging on brush is more important so I’m just gonna keep it on.

Mine has held up great! It's as solid as the day I put it on, no discoloration and the reception is as good as day one.

Just installed mine yesterday. I live in a small town, so AM/FM is pretty crappy here to begin with. After installation, I might have lost one or two channels out of 15-20 with the OEM antenna. Those lost channels already had poor reception. So far, this antenna is solid.

I emailed an inquiry last night and this morning Chuck replied. The Antenna Source now has a 27" spring steel mast similar to the 31"stocker that is on my 2016 Tundra. This is perfect for me because now I will not be whacking the garage door or the parking garage overhead beams. Chuck recommended this because I still listen to some AM radio from time to time and the longer the mast the better the AM reception should be. Just ordered it.

Installed the stubby antenna about five/six months ago. I’ve had zero issues or complaints. I live in Denver and reception has been indifferent around town. When driving into the mountains or to WY/NB service has been terrific. Great product!

So what is the sweet spot on the size because they have a few, meaning the smallest size but yet great reception!

I see on your Amazon page that it doesn't ship to Canada. I can't find the same thing on Amazon.ca. All I can find is the Craven Speed one and it doesn't have very good reviews compared to yours. On top of that, they want $75 + $5 shipping in Canadian pesos. I'm not spending that much. Any purchase options for us Canadians?

Shipping to me can get up there, since I'm way up in northern Alberta. I actually just talked to my friend in BC who I'll be visiting at Christmas. He lives 10min from the border and crosses regularly to a package receiving depot in Sumas, Washington. I think I'll just have it shipped to his box there and he'll go pick it up for me.

Thanks for the kind offer though. :)
