They soud be exactly the same except for the tint. You reuse all the bulbs you already have. I will find out for sure once they show up and post pictures. Will be a while since some are coming from China via Aliexpress.

Here they are installed. Not 100% perfect to OEM...there is a bigger gap between the exterior lights and the body. Good enough for now, but those LED lights I mentioned above should be coming soon. Ping Matt Gee on the 2nd Gen Sequoia forum - presales are starting soon with the plan to ship mid summer per his recent posts.

Was there ever an update to this thread? Are there now aftermarket options for 2nd Gen Sequoia taillights?

I saw this picture on Amazon and can't tell if this is AI or some taillight prototype out there. It looks kinda like the 2010+ 4Runner taillights.

Can't speak to that picture you posted, was it next to an actual product. Look at my post right above yours for the updates on the both the ebay/aliexpress lights and when the LED lights are coming out.

No, the Amazon listing was for liftgate struts. The lights you posted look exactly like OEM.

They are like OEM for 2018+ tail lights which have a tint to them. All model years before 2018 have all red ones with no tint. Scroll up more in the thread where I talked about these. They are not as cool as LED’s but I do like the subtle change they provided for low cost until they come out.

Matt Gee posted these photos of 3d printed prototypes on the 2nd Gen Sequoia group earlier this week. Says will be ready to start selling in a month. He stated " I have 2 prototypes in hand. See photos of the 3D backs that are completed. If we look at all 4 photos, these are just the "insides" so don't worry that there is an obvious gap". The other photo with the mock up shows something closer to production for the exterior lenses.

Yeah, the juice may not be worth the squeeze as it is more of a cosmetic thing than a functinality thing. Your modded lights and my ebay ones with the tinting, in my opinion, look really nice on the Sequoia and retain some stock Toyota character. Upgrading headlights does a lot more than just looks in terms of functionality so it is an easier pill to swallow.

For my all my years of ownership of this vehicle, I never got out of my car, locked it, and then just looked back to get a quick dopamine shot of the car looking cool. Since I added wheels/tires/grille, I do it all the time. I have to install Morimoto headlights that will add to that and give me better visibility.

I am going to wait to see when the LED lights come out for the rear to see how I feel about them. It will be an emotional decision, so if it doesn't set off that "whoah, cool, I must have them!" reaction there really isn't any other reason to do it.

Yes, I prefer the old school Toyota look, hence why I haven’t upgraded my headlights and with the tails, I don’t really want to change my truck to look like everything else in the road.
