I just installed mine and ran into the same problem. I took pics of the backside of the knob positions when they are are top center on the front. It helped me get them back in line. If you need them let me know.

Now that I see that new shifter design in the wild I'm really digging it. I have the original design long version and I like it, but I think I'm going to switch it up to this new one, seems to flow better with everything else around it.

These aluminum shifters are awesome, but man do they get freezing cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Not really an issue for an automatic, but I wouldn't want to be trying to shift that thing in a manual in the dead of winter! Its like grabbing an ice cube first thing in the morning.

That V3 shifter is growing on me, but I still like the tactile feeling of the V2. I can’t keep my hand from rubbing it when cruising.

So... Due to how i have my seat adjusted (i sit pretty staight up and close, but comfortable to the steering wheel), all of the mounts only hinder about an inch or two inside or about 8 inches outside of how I would normally see the hood of the truck. I tried to line everything up so i essentially kept everything within the view of my hood, if that makes sense. The camera angle might be decieving... I tried to avoid creating a blind spot, and have had no line of sight issues i the past couple of weeks driving in Houston traffic. Of course, tweeks were needed to keep everything as low and tightly grouped as possible!

Gaia gps is my primary mapping, and is much more capable and expansive than the Toyota navi unit. I use gaia in conjuction with google maps. More tools to navigate if needed, as I spend alot of time outdoors.

Dashcam is pretty much tucked away behind my rearview, truly a non issue. An essential piece of tech when driving in Houston !!!!

Agreed! Winter in Houston, not an issue. I'll have to do a follow up in the middle of Texas summer May regret my decision, or may have to do a paracord wrap...

I hear ya! Born and raised in Houston, so I know the heat can be a beast.
Be careful or you may end up with an imprint of that shifter on your palm, like the Nazi from Raiders of the Lost Ark.
(all you young'uns can go look up that reference).

Any thoughts on shipping speed? I ordered mid last week and still sitting on 'Awaiting Processing'.

    In the process of de-chroming....
I got my stuff pretty quickly. Think it sat in the "Awaiting Processing" for about a week, then it changed to ship and at my door in like a day or two.

Love the AJT stuff I have got and installed the interior looks like it should now.

I have a full AJT conversion and it looks great! My only problem was with the steering wheel logo. It fit over the OEM logo but it didn't contour to it. So one edge likes to lift. I tried taping it down, hit it with a head gun. I had cleaned everything before I applied it with IPA. Still no go. Might need to order a new one.

I had the same issue. Ordered dual climate knobs and a V3 shift knob about 7 days ago. Yesterday I emailed the POC and he said the shifter was on back order and wanted to know if I wanted the climate knobs now. He responds pretty quick if you inquire about the order

This exact same thing happened to me tonight. Everything works fine but when I turn the hot / cold knob all the way to the right the a/c and recirc turns on. I think when pulling the middle knob off it got it out of sync. Anyone know how to fix this?

Did the Chrome delete last week. Took my time. Follow the video!! Mark all positions of knobs and gears and be careful with taking the climate apart!! Worked perfect when I reinstalled. 312AC4FD-614F-45C6-B93D-C83E1D183C14.jpg

I switched from the TRD shifter to the V2. I didn’t care for the TRD shifter, it’s sitting in my glove box.

Im in the middle of doing my chrome delete. I cannot for the life of me get the 4x4 switch to accept the new AJT knob. When I examine the chromed knob and the AJT knob, it looks like the thin long ridges that run up and down the inside the knobs are different, and it definitely looks like that is what is hitting the ridges on the switch to keep it from sliding on. My truck is a 2021 SR5, anybody else having this issue? I emailed Mike at AJT and he told me the 4x4 knob is a two piece unit and then directed me to the AJT instructional page. I had already watched that video and @2020Platinum's videos about 5 times each trying to figure out what Im doing wrong.

Anybody else having this issue? Is it possible the 2021 is just a little different?

It was a challenge for sure. I installed my complete AJT kit before (mistake) completing the dash chrome delete.
If you're handy and are willing to tear your dash down, you can do it as part of the center console replacement.
    - I invested in the Toyota OE Black center panel.

Then following the step by step of the dash by @NitroZ18 you can get that knob out super easy.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xu1C1AapaAI
Mind you that knob disassembly was tricky and took a bit but it can be done.

Here's what it looks like all done.

I appreciate the response. My issue is not removing the knob, or even disassemblying it. I have the knob taken apart and the chromed part taken off. I am sutck trying to just get the new AJT piece inserted onto the 4x4 piece. I cannot get the 4x4 knob to accept the AJT piece that replaces the OEM chrome piece. It should be what seems like the most simple step, but I cannot figure out how to get it on.

I did the total AJT chrime delete about 6 months ago and loved it. The large blank space on the top of the shifter knob was starting to bother me. I would find myself continually looking at it (apparently I have too much free time on my hands). Had this done yesterday at a local laser engraver.0698A9B9-BE32-4024-9224-D732E25BD01C.jpg
