My 1794 is also a June 2023 build, and I have not received this recall notice, or any other recall, so far.

I can tell you from personal experience that recalls are also exempt from the mediations.

This is pretty dramatic stuff. I would think it would be all over social media if trucks were catching fire. Have there been any Tundras catch fire from this?

I'm waiting to hear back from the state of Florida re: my lemon law paperwork but my gut says it won't be good for me. So far, the only agency I've had any luck with is the NHTSA.

It’s November. Has anybody heard anything about when Toyota will start fixing trucks??

Nope. And existing inventory with the issue is still under the stop sale with no firm answer.

Not sure I understand why this is such a ridiculous request. We were told some time in October, and then October became November. It's now November. Just asking if anybody has heard anything.

Aren't you the guy who voluntarily left his truck with the dealership until this issue is fixed, even though Toyota has said nothing about not driving it in the interim?

LOL! "Irrational asshole" are your words, not mine. I just think it's funny that the only guy who chose to stop driving his truck because of this issue is the guy whining the most about how long it's taking to get fixed.

How's your Lemon Law case going?

Just a reminder, at the time the only information I had to go on was that my truck had an increased risk of fire and I was concerned I couldn't get my kid out of the back seat in time if there was a fire. Nobody on this forum or the dealer had told me that there wasn't a single report of fire. There's literally no possible way I could have known that. Make fun of me if you want. At the time, it was the right decision.

Once you learned the fire risk is essentially zero, and the worst case is a bit of chaffing on the lines, did you ever consider picking your truck up from the dealership?

It's going great. The point of the lemon law case (however unlikely) was to try to get a buyback from Toyota. This truck was my dream, I paid cash, and it's been a severe disappointment since I got it. The worst thing that could happen is that we don't come to an agreement and I sell it after the fix comes out (which I'm guessing probably still wont be for a while).

I didn't. The reason is that Toyota wouldn't recall 168k vehicles because the worst case scenario is chaffing of the lines.

Toyota also wouldn't neglect to tell you to stop driving your truck, if the actual risk of fire wasn't miniscule.

Hey Ryan, you seem well connected with Toyota information. I've read conflicting posts on the actual location of this possible leak. Can you shed any light on where it is?

I'm not sure I follow your logic, but if the risk of fire was so miniscule I think they would have lifted the stop sale on the trucks sitting on lots waiting to be sold.

I'm happy to have that conversation with you privately if you want more details, but in short I expected more.

    Yes, but where exactly?

Early on, someone posted a location where fuel and brake lines crossed near where the fuel filler hose connects to the tank. I was able to find that exact location on my June '23 build (not included in this recall) and found that my truck has a protective sleeve in that location that earlier builds don't. Is this not the location in question?

No permanent solutions yet. Temp fix just puts a diaper on the offending tube.

    Hi,
PS. Sorry for my bad English writing :)

I bought a new 2023 Tundra, my dealer told me he has to replace the fuel line recall before giving me the truck.

Does someone know when the part will be available ?
Does other dealer in the US have already received some new fuel line ?

    Thanks
David , hoping to be a new Tundra owner soon.
