Spent some time tuning and time aligning. This headunit is a huge difference from the Ilx-f411. I’m blown away.

Can you bandpass the crossovers?

 

Ok this is so insane. I just left the Seattle Northgate BB and the sticker price on this, $350.77!!! That’s not only a quarter of the price, but also came with free install!!! Y’all are insane, thnx so much!!!!

 

I’m now gonna scour the post for answers on what I need to a) stream (is the HDMI accessible for my FireStick?), b) what do I need for steering wheel controls to be retained, and c) what do I need for front and rear camera and anytime access (will I need the FRAC harness that is super popular on here and was stolen off my truck before I had it installed?). Thnx all for the info, and if those questions haven’t been answered, feel free to reply

 

Details and parts are listed along the way in the last 5 pages or so, but a) yes, you’ll just need an hdmi extension or route a cable elsewhere to plug it in, and get a VIM bypass module. The module and options have been discussed. B) you want the Maestro RR, gives you steering wheel controls and retains all the other OEM features. C) cameras can be accessed any time without extra stuff, aside from buying a second camera harness (only one comes in the box). No need for a FRAC harness.

 

having not had my hands on this particular unit, I’m taking a shot and guess no, I don’t recall any Alpine with the exception of DSPs or F1Status equipment support a bandpass crossover configuration natively. I could totally be wrong as the installs I’ve done for SQ customers utilized dedicated electronic crossovers, physical 30 band eqs or more recently DSPs as much greater control can be achieved for targeted xover freq and options to select the necessary crossover filter parameters.

assuming your trying to utilize a pair of channels to support dedicated mid range drivers?

Yeah. I was hoping you can do the same as the Pioneer and Kenwood, 3 way active.
I think I still can between the head unit low-pass crossover and my amp high-pass crossover. Eventually, I may get a dsp. They are getting pricey, though.

 

you absolutely can as long as you can acoustically align the output above and below the midrange. Otherwise you can have a summation or cancellation adjacent to the xover frequencies…

 

My personal preference has been the audison processors for a few years now, the JL’s have come a long way too. Alpine f1, Helix, Mosconi and ARC all have fantastic DSPs. Fosgate was ok for the few I installed, some were super noisy and software was glitchy.

I have not played with the miniDSP line of products but have heard great things.
