It’s around 8 3/4” to the top of the step.
    They are the regular PowerStep
    Correct, this is a non-hybrid

Here is a similar photo for my Rhino E1's. It looks like the Amps and Rhinos drop from the body about the same distance. But my steps to ground measurement is more like ~12" which is really too high for me, being tall. Ideally I like stepping into my truck from a typical concrete curb in an end parking spot which is lower than all these steps. Does the 1794 trim really sit that much lower to the ground? I might should have gotten the AMP XLs.

I hate to keep pestering you but since your truck has a different ride height than mine (didn't expect that) I can't get a good read on the exact drop of the boards from the bottom of the rocker panel. Could you please get a pic like the one in the last post (#8) in this thread with the lens lined up on the tape even with the rocker panel bottom? Many of us tallish folks would like to see exactly how much lower the Amps are as compared to the Rhinos. If enough I am going to have to swap them out. Dammit.

Yes, I will be glad to get another picture. There should only be three stock heights:
    Sport: slightly lowered
    Pro: 1" raised
    All other trims: identical

There's a significant drop to the AMPs, I will try to capture that better in the next photo and provide some measurements.

Currently doing install on my 23 plat and on hold for over an hour with amp CS. The direction say to tap into the blue wire and the wire wire, but the truck plug has multiable blue and white. Do you remember how you decided which ones to use? Also would love to see the switch install to turn off/on. Do you have a part number for the switch?

Remember, there are 3 different drops for the AMP steps depending upon the model. The 3 main models are AMP PowerStep, AMP PowerStep XL, and AMP PowerStep Extreme. Since my wife is short, I had ordered the Extreme since they were the lowest. Unfortunately, I could not install them due to issues with the 2024 Tundra Limited.

Here's a link to the AMP override switch https://realtruck.com/p/amp-research-powerstep-override-switch/v/toyota/tundra/2022/ They also have a new model that has an app override, instead of a switch called the Smart Series https://realtruck.com/p/amp-research-powerstep-smart-series/v/toyota/tundra/2022/

I have the other problem, I am tall, and it is easy to step up on the Rhinos, but then, as another poster put it, I need to fall *down* into the seat. Or as I put it, do a slow left legged squat, to get my right leg to go under the steering wheel. I honestly did not expect the Rhinos to drop only 2 1/2" from the rockers. That is a little better than fixed boards, which I can't use at all, but not by much. The ideal height would be that which would allow me to just slide over.

In my case with a DC I believe the only Amp option I have is the standard boards. So, I am trying to get an exact measurement of their drop from the rockers.

Attaching more pics of the drop. These are (supposed to be) just the base PowerStep. I did not install them myself. I was originally going for the Rhino; however, the shop I went to had previously installed more of the Amps on 3rd gen Tundras and had overall better results with them so that's why I went with them. Here are some pictures of the drop on mine.
    Road to step: 9"
Road to base of cab: 17"
    Road to floorboard: 24"

The link ChucklesToy provided is the same switch I used. It works great and is well hidden. Again, I went by the installer's recommendation from previous installs and I would agree it's a great place for the switch. I can't speak to the wiring process since I did not install them myself, but I can say we didn't buy anything special for the 2024 versus the 2023.

Just to confirm, those are the standard AMP powersteps, not the XL or Extreme? Yes, that is significantly more drop than the Rhinos. It looks like the steps are just about halfway between the ground and the rocker panel, which should be perfect. I think you just cost me some more $ and work. Dammit.

I believe I know why the Rhinos don't drop near this far. They install just into the sheet metal like the OEM fixed steps and having brackets long enough to allow this much drop might put too much leverage into those mount points. Now it makes sense why AMP has you drilling the frame for a brace. I had thought that was an unnecessary PITA step in the install but now I understand.

Yes, mine are just the base PowerStep. Confirmed I only have one motor per side.

Finished the install and boards went up but now they are not responding. Verified the plugs/wires. Unhooked battery and reattached, unplugged/replugged control unit, Checked fuse. Unplugged truck harness and obd, plugged harness back started truck, turned off truck and attached obd, closed door and re enter....Still nothing. Anyone have this thoughts?

So many white and blue wires! But IIRC those are for the rears and I was wondering if the fronts would operate even if those weren't connected or miswired. But IDK. And it seems crazy that they have you hook their white to truck blue and vice versa.

Those do look like the identical wires from the photos posted above that the poster said came from AMP.

Actually, you can tell which wires they connect the taps to. But the one with the probes?? LOL. What are signals are they probing for? Voltage, ohms, what??

Sounds good. I guess it's either that or the controller. I am following all this closely because I am almost certainly going to ditch my Rhinos for a set of the AMPs soon.

Yes, the rear doors are triggered via the white/blue tapped into the blue/white wires in the white plug. The front doors are triggered via connection to the OBD plug/port shown in the last picture.

So, my two week old AMP powersteps driver's side motor or gearbox is making unhealthy noises, like a clicking or ratcheting sound. Meanwhile the passenger side is as smooth as butter. Anyone else had this? Otherwise, the steps are still working fine on both sides. I'll be giving AMP tech support a call soon, I guess.

I had one on my '16 Tundra do that. They sent me another motor and never had another issue. Could also be where the gears mesh. If I remember correctly, you have to assemble the motor to the idler? I remember something about initially having an issue where mine didn't mesh correctly, but I got it to sit / align better. I'm sure you checked the alignment / fit and that it was tight...not that much to it as I recall.

Yeah, the motors ship detached from the motor brackets. That is one of the very first steps to assemble those units. It was tight at installation and quiet for over a week and just started making the noise a few days ago. But I plan to go under and double check to make sure nothing is loose before I call them. Hard to imagine anything could have come loose that quickly, but you never know.

I installed mine exactly like the instructions say but for some reason when I power them up and do the OBD procedure I can hear a clicking noise under the driver side relay box in this normal? Am I missing something?

For the life of me I can’t figure out how to get this ring terminal into this fuse box without some serious drilling.IMG_2770.jpg
Once inside I still need to get down to the bolt to mount it. Can anyone with a hybrid send me a picture of your passenger side fuse box with the red wire installed? I have sent my question to Amp Research but no reply yet.

Did you ever get a solution for this other than drilling? I am now installing my own set of Amp Power Steps and have the same question.
