Any 2023 owners received their second key fob?

2024 Limited purchased Oct 9th and just got notification on the app. Called the dealer and they said they have to order and may take two weeks.

 

July build date. Got the notification dated yesterday in app.

 

So 2024 models, that came with one key, are getting a second key before 2023 people waiting ?!?!?!

Well I'll be a monkeys uncle. Got my app notice today that I've been selected to get my 2nd FOB.

6/23 build purchased in August.

 

Things must be moving quicker now if it goes on delivery date not build date. 7/23 build, purchased 11/22/23, saw the notice today 12/21/23 in the app. One day short of a month after delivery. Dealer said when we get the notice it "allows" them to order the key fob, should take a week or so with the holidays.

 

It's still by build date. Yours is the same with mine with July builds. I bought in August.

 

Just checked the app. I need to call the dealer I guess.

 

Notified yesterday: 24 Tundra bought in October (September build, I think). Dealer has now ordered the FOB. My days living with fob-anxiety are drawing to a close.

 

August build date, purchased first week in October. Just got my notification today.

Interesting side note. My son bought a 2023 Tacoma this summer. Bought it while in transit and took 6 weeks to arrive. He took delivery July 12th, two days after it arrived to the dealer. He received his second fob notification two weeks after delivery.

 

Purchased in April 23 .. received my second FOB yesterday

 

production date 7/29/23, purchased 10/1. Received app notification yesterday. Soonest dealer appointment 1/11

 

Build date is April 1 2023, purchased June 6. Received a notification in the app couple weeks and got my second fob today.

 

april build, july delivery, notification within last day or so 12/23/23

7/23 build and just got my key notice on 12/23/23. My guess would be a big shipment of keys hit port and they’re rolling them out by allocation and/or purchase date.

I took delivery in early September so about 4 month’s wait .. I would bet wait times shrink next year as the supply chain starts to catch up.

 

I purchased my '23 in April of this year. I received my 2nd FOB today, however, Toyota received it about 2 weeks ago. That said, the 2nd fob did not have the actual key (so no locking/unlocking glove box, tailgate, and/or whatever else it can be used for). I feel like I received half a key....Did anyone else have the same experience?

 

You should have received your mechanical key for your second fob when you picked up your truck.

 

The dealer put mine in the envelope with the sales order, etc.
6/23 build date, 8/23 delivery, got my second fob 12/26. Got the alert a couple of weeks ago.

 

Maybe check your glove box or center console? My dealer attached mine to one of their key tags so it was harder to lose.

 

My 2nd mechanical key was in the folder with the owners manual.

 

Honestly, I did not give it much thought to check for said key, as I saw the 2nd FOB in my cupholder as Toyota of Katy - Houston mentioned. I noticed the missing mechanical key when I brought the FOB in, earlier this evening. That said, all great suggestions but I just checked all of the places mentioned by other users, and nada. Albeit, I thought it would have been odd to put the FOB in one place and the mechanical key somewhere else. Thanks all! I'll reach out to the dealership tomorrow to run this issue down.

Thank you for jarring my memory, that's exactly what happened. I completely forgot the dealership gave me the mechanical key at the time of purchasing the truck.

 

Ya same with me because I bought used…I saw that the key blanks are pretty cheap, not sure if a regular key cutting place can cut it or not…looking for the part number now, I’ll edit the post when I find it..

 

I guess you were lovin the truck so much easy to forget a little item like that!

Picked up Tundra 10-13-23 and got second key fob notice 12-8-23. Picked it up about three days later.

 

Received my 2nd Key Yesterday, 10/10 build date

 

I actually got three. Got two when I bought it and the dealer gave me a third yesterday.
