Any 2023 owners received their second key fob?

    I bought my 2023 used with 1,900 miles on it. It came with only 1 fob. Is there any way to figure out if the original owner received or picked up the 2nd fob? Would my local dealer be able to find this out?

    I suggest go to your local dealer and explain the situation. I am sure they can determine if a second fob has been assigned to your VIN. If one hasn't they should be able to get it for you. They may charge you for programming it especially if you didn't buy the truck from them or the truck didn't come from that dealership in the first place.

    Yep. I mentioned it when I went in for service and they said they were able to order me the FOB. Will call when it arrives.

    Interesting as I see all these posts of owners calling in to dealers on the availability of their second key fob after months/years of ownership. For me, I purchased my '24 Platinum at the beginning of November and got notification in the Toyota app under Health & Alerts > Service Campaign. Called the dealer last week and had my appointment this last Tuesday. Was in and out in 45 mins.

    Got my 2nd key programmed today. Built 7/23, purchased 11/23 the day before Thanksgiving, and the notification popped up exactly 1 month after purchase right before Christmas but wasn't able to get into the dealer till today.

    Can someone please confirm how remote connect works. My wife and I share the truck and we have no other Toyota's. From what I've found the only way we can both use the remote start in the app is to have us both log into the app with my main account however, does that mean I can't setup her own profile in the truck and attached to the new 2nd key?

    Ya I think that was one of the several videos I watched. Unfortunately the app looks completely different now. I did all that and shared the remote connect with the wife's account but then it removed my access and the only way I could get it back was after re-registering my app with the truck and scanning the qr code again. It's pretty disappointing that they actually designed it this way where different family members can't all have remote connect access and profiles in the vehicle.

    From what I've gathered the only way for both of us to access remote connect is to just use my account login on both phones but that prevents from being able to create our own profiles in the vehicle itself. Makes no sense. This video explains the limitations that I also found to be true.

    My little woman doesn't drive my truck much and never without me. So as long as her profile works for all the saved info like Seat settings, she is happy. The remote transfer/removal and re-activate is BS, but it is what it is.

    Delivered 11-25, notified around Christmas that 2nd key is ready. Made appointment, parts department ordered the part and had it in 3 days and then the appointment took only 30 min!!

    Bought my 2023 slightly used, and it came with two keys. Had it in last week for the fuel line fix, and service advisor asked if I received two keys when I bought it. I said yes. Picked it up and she said the Toyota dealer that sold me the vehicle didn't note that second key was delivered, so they gave me a third key. Go figure.

    Just sharing some insight regarding this topic. I have a 24' with a build date in August and bought in late September. Called the dealer yesterday and they said a second FOB was available. They have ordered and will have it programmed when I can make time next week.

    I never got a notification via app or email or snail mail. Then again I never signed up for connected services.

    Received the app notice. Got my 2nd fob today for my '24 1794 purchased on Nov. 1. Finally a sign of relief that something doesn't happen to the first key.

    My October build truck, bought on 11/25, I still haven't been notified my second key is ready. My son's September build, bought on 12/18, was notified a week ago that his 2nd key was in. Seems to be no rhyme or reason on who gets the 2nd key when. The schedule I saw said 4th quarter builds would come with 2 keys, but my 4th quarter build came with one. Does Toyota even know what they're doing sometimes? Pretty frustrating to spend $68k on a truck and be told there's only one key. They keep saying it's the chip shortage, but the shortage has been over for many months.

    One of the lucky, I'm assuming that all is good now due to the covid lag in production of things.
    Got mine after 9 months some not so lucky and waited 1 year +.
    Hence as to why this thread exists....
