Some sizes are made in china. That's a negative in my book. I try my best not to buy made in china products. Yea, I know it's near impossible to totally not.

We run ‘em on a 3rd gen 4 runner and love them. We don’t get a lot of rain, but no problems when we have.

    Incredible A/T tire!

Super smooth, very planted feel, no problem in the rain, wears very well. Have these on my wife's GX470.

I have Toyo R/Ts on my Tundra. Guess what's going on the Rig when
    that time comes.

Cooper has a new AT out that looks interesting. May be worth a look.

Excellent tire. One of my favorite AT tires. Great traction in all conditions, easy to live with for daily driver, wear and performance has been great. Now running them on both the Tundra and 4runner.

Well there you go, OP. You’ve had enough feedback on what you asked. Now we’re gonna talk about Cooper tires.

One common misunderstanding with the Falken Wildpeak AT3W tires are there are two distinctly different versions.

The SL or lower rating standard version has the better silica compound for ice/snow/winter driving. The LT heavier duty tires have their claimed deepest AT tread depth and harder wearing rubber.

Falken kind of likes to list both their superior winter silica compound AND their superior tread depth as pros for the tire. But it’s one or the other for the buyer, you can’t have both.

Other than that I’ve found them to be great tires in Tacomas, our third Gen 4Runner, a first Gen Tundra, my brother and sister-in-law’s Jeep, and so on. I plan to throw a set of 265/70-18 on my incoming 2016 Tundra as well. We almost went with the Toyo ATIII like the wife’s 06 4Runner but opted for the Falken Wildpeaks again. Great tire. Better than the Hankook Dynapro ATM I used to run, although the new AT2 does compete with them believe it or not.

The softer winter compound wore super fast in Moab (big shock, not exactly a downside) is the only other “negative but obviously to be expected” I can think of.

I had mine for 50k? Miles. Give or take. They performed great. But one of then had a bad radial pull. And even though I rotated them every 5k they didn't wear that great and had cupping issues. I probably just got a bad set. I was gonna buy then again actually, till I found our Mickey Thompsons were cheaper. They used to be the best bang for your buck, but for what they charge now, I'm sticking with other brands. Love these MTs more than the falkens in every way.

Baja boss ATs. They're awesome. More aggressive tread, quieter, and have the snow rating. 50k mile warranty I believe. The sidewall is very beefy and aggressive. 20211216_163019.jpg

About to order some for my 22 SR5 OR with 18s.

I usually go for dedicated winters as im in BC Canada and we do get snow and go to ski hills every weekend but there is an appeal to an all-weather plus I would like something a bit more aggressive for off-road the rest of the year. All the reviews seem positive for harsh winter driving.

Should I expect a noticeable difference in gas mileage staying stock and SL?

They run a little large compared to Nitto Ridgegrapplers. I had rub while another member with identical setup on Nittos did not. Minor "issue" that I'm good with. Flat spotting as mentioned by others, but not a big deal either.

I would not buy these tires again. I have the Wildpeak A/T at3w LT295/70R18 on a F350 6.7 liter diesel.

They simply don't last, wore out at 22,000 miles. They have a smooth ride, good in the snowy mountains of Utah, BUT they do hydroplane. Big issue is they don't last and my nephew had the same issue on a Dodge 2500 diesel, he had one set go bad at 15,000 and the replacements lasted 17,000. I can't speak to his driving habits but I go pretty easy on my truck with about 1500 miles of towing a 30' trailer.

    They simply don't last.

I love them. Will buy them again. Have the big 10 ply ones on my tundra and my wife has them on her outback. Aggressive looking and up to the job.

But like others have said I have noticed they don’t feel the most solid or connected in the rain. Only on my tundra though, but that could be because I run 50 psi all the time. I don’t know

I'm on my 2nd set and will be putting another set on this summer. They grip, don't wear odd, are fairly quite, and last. I got 25-30k from ridge grapplers and they sucked in the snow untill you aired them down a bit, with Falkens I get 50k and they grip better in snow/ice.
Only complaint if I had to have one is when new they hold onto and throw small rocks when you get up to speed, so they may be hard on paint if they stick outside fenders

Yeah mine hold on to rocks too a bit. Great tire though. Will be putting them back on my truck and Subaru when time comes

    Thread from the dead!

I ended up getting them shortly after my post here. Overall I’m pleased. Have been good in winters skiing including lots of mountain passes. The handful of times I wished I had more grip were really pushing chain territory.

Seem good for my needs off-road. I went with the P rated and do find them to run much more comfortable at 32psi rather than Toyotas recommended 36.

don’t get a lot of torrential rain where I am so can’t speak to that.
