I had JDL with NAV and the factory backup camera on the nav screen in my 2010 Limited. They didn't send me any JBL dongle and I can't get the backup camera to work. Is this the same config you had and did you need another dongle?

Steering wheel controls do work and the audio sounds great.

I was considering one of the Dasita HU's, but was too nervous to pull the trigger.

Lots of guys saying they're solid, but also lots of posts of them being glitchy, constantly re-booting, freezing up, etc.

It would've saved me a lot of money going that direction, but I went for a known unit.

Plus I wanted a volume knob. That little knob cost me $1K, but I wanted a knob dammit.

I just installed the Dasaita in my Tundra and I like it. I do have an issue with the fade working correctly and they are sending me a new harness.

If all you want is navigation and Android Auto or Car play, any unit will provide that but, those are just licensed apps running on those head units.

If you want a full blown tablet/PC/phone "type" head unit, the more "popular" brands won't offer that.

Dasaita, Joying are the most popular but I recently found another brand that claims to have crystal clear phone calling. It's called DUDU Auto.

Just got my Dasaita HU for my 2020 SR5.What is the reason for a SIM card plug on this unit?

12” Bulletproof Lift, AFE CAI, AFE Exhaust, rock lights, Fas-Top tonneau and soft topper, Dasaita 10.2” radio, light bar, ditch lights, LED headlights and fog lights, LED interior lights, Amp Research rear bumper step, dashcam, BT ODBII reader and Torque app on radio
I had a Dasaita HU and now a Joying. Both share much of, if not the same, hardware as many cheaper Chinese units. But as others have said you pay for the UI and support.

I had the 10.2” Dasaita and it seemed to have several glitches and bugs throughout the 2+ years I had it. Lots of times the wireless CarPlay wouldn’t work and I had to reboot it.

I now have the 11.6” or so Joying and I love this HU. Wirless CarPlay connects right up every time. The only issue I have is it often doesn’t display very accurate location in apps like Waze. Not sure if it’s a phone or radio setting as it doesn’t happen in my other vehicles. They gave me an update but I haven’t loaded it yet.

For me it’s the ability to install so many apps from the Google play store or load launchers for different layouts (although I mostly use CarPlay) that has drawn me to these android units. I have them in 2 of my 3 vehicles.

With that sim card adapter, you will have direct access to data directly on the head unit. You can access the Internet just like your phone.

EDIT: "Your Co-Pilot" can watch Netflix while you are driving. If you forget your phone at home, you still have access to maps and stuff.

Does anyone know if a 2021 Tundra head unit with CarPlay would work in a 2010 Sequoia?

Is there an android headunit that supports sirus xm tuner? The built tuner would be nice, but adding an aftermarket tuner would be ok as well. Not really interested in using the sxm app, there is many areas with poor data service where we drive.

So I assume there's a monthly data charge, yes?

Do you add these to your regular cell phone account or how does this work?

Rick: The $10 monthly T-Mobile SIM card... Do you have your cell phones with T-Mobile and the SIM card is an add-on?

Because I've gone to our local T-Mobile store and asked about a Car Data-Only SIM card and the salesperson looked at me like I'd grown a second head.

Then tried to sell me on moving our phones from Mint Mobile to T-Mobile. The Mint Mobile salesperson didn't seem to grasp what I was asking for either.

I went in to our local T-Mobile store and purchased the 5g wireless Internet box and the digits only SIM card but I don't have my cellular service with them. The saleslady/manager knew exactly what I needed when I told her it was for the head unit in my truck. She also told me I couldn't purchase the SIM card from Walmart because it would be the wrong item.
