I snagged a set of the Trails in 285/75-18 to go on these Methods I snagged on closeout. Hopefully get them on after the salt dries up around here! IMG_2429.jpgIMG_2458.jpg

Great looking tire but the lack of siping leads me to believe they’re not as good on wet roads and might spin a bit.

IDK why they don’t add more siping, does it effect off road performance in a negative way if they did that?

Looks to have a fair amount of siping.
Nearly every tread block has siping. They just use a single line of siping per tread block compared to a bunch of smaller sipes all over the block.
Not sure the advantage/disadvantage to that style of siping over smaller more numerous sipes.

I’d say it had more sipes than something like the Mickey Thompson Baja Legend EXP which has great highway wet traction.

We just installed a set of LT295/70R18 Toyo Open Country RT Trails on our 2019 Tundra. It's still too early to offer a review of their performance and tread life, but I can definitely tell you that these tires balanced out REALLY well (especially compared to almost every other brand in this size). I made a short video and posted it to our Instagram page:

Are these wheels available in 5 lug in a grey/gunmetalish finish?

More siping leads to more chunking and tire wear in rocks and gravel.

Yes they are. The wheels in the picture I posted are 18x9" +25mm offset 5x150mm PCD (110mm hub centric).

We offer the matte gunmetal in a slightly different, but very similar fitment : 18x8.5" +18mm offset 5x150mm PCD (110mm hub centric).

Option 1 (matte bronze or matte gunmetal)
FN Wheels FX Pro - Flow Formed
    Diameter: 18"
    Width: 8.5"
    Offset: +18mm
    Backspacing: 5.46"(approximate)
    Bolt Pattern (PCD): 5x150mm
    Hub Bore: 110mm hub centric
    Wheel Weight: 26.2lbs (approximate)
    Load Rating: 2,500lbs w/ 35" tire diameter
Colors: Matte bronze or matte gunmetal
Additional notes: 2,500lbs per wheel load rating with up to a 35" diameter tire as tested to DOT, JWL-T / VIA (Japanese), and SAE J2530 standards.

    Option 2 (matte black)
FN Wheels FX Pro - Flow Formed
    Diameter: 18"
    Width: 9"
    Offset: +25mm
    Backspacing: 6" (approximate)
    Bolt Pattern (PCD): 5x150mm
    Hub Bore: 110mm hub centric
    Wheel Weight: 26.2lbs (approximate)
    Load Rating: 2,500lbs w/ 35" tire diameter
    Colors: Matte black
Additional notes: 2,500lbs per wheel load rating with up to a 35" diameter tire as tested to DOT, JWL-T / VIA (Japanese), and SAE J2530 standards.

These wheels are made from virgin 6061 T6 aluminum alloy using the flow form manufacturing technique. Flow formed wheels are lighter and stronger than traditionally cast wheel with a price point that is significantly lower than forged wheels.

I'm sorry about that. It's not your fault. Our website / online store is missing a few items. I can definitely help you out though. Please call us at (951)735-1100, call/text me on my cell at (714)390-9387, or email us at FNWheels@gmail.com. Our new website is almost complete, but it probably won't be online for approximately another 30-60 days. We'll try to get the 18" FX Pro added to the existing site beforehand, but please contact us directly in the meantime. We'd be very happy to answer any questions or process your order for a set of wheels.

    Thanks,

    Dustin

Much appreciated. Any chance that Dark High Glass Gunmetal will be available in 5 lug at some point?

Just returned from a trip to AZ (700 miles round trip). All miles on road. Road noise was apparent but not overwhelming; the ride was great ( running 31 psi). We hit nasty weather going through Mt laguna - rain & snow- tires felt solid on wet mountain roads.

I am running TRD Pro Fox's front and rear. Extra 1/4 Coach Builder spacer on the front for 2.5" total. Have a BMC and a bumper spacer moving the front bumper forward about a half inch or so. No rubbing at all. Coach builder plus 1's shackles in the rear.

I can tell you for certain that our truck (2019 Tundra TRD Pro with factory suspension) cleared the factory cab mount with 18x9" +25mm offset wheels, 295/70R18 tires, OEM TRD Pro Fox suspension and factory alignment specs. There's a little less than a half inch of clearance to the cab mount at the tightest point.

Toyo lists the R/T Trails in 285/75R18 as a 34.8" OD (https://www.toyotires.com/tire-finder/size/285-75-r18/) vs. 34.3" for the 295/70R18 (https://www.toyotires.com/tire-finder/size/295-70-r18/), which means the 285/75's will be approximately .25" closer to the cab mount and .25" closer to the front bumper / front fender liner (.50" ÷ 2 = .25").

I suspect that just as @bmw345 said, 285/75R18 Toyo R/T Trails will clear the cab mount without the need to chop unless the offset of the wheel is too low or the caster angle is too low. Keep in mind this is just for the Toyo Open Country R/T Trail or similar tires in 285/75R18, and a more aggressive tire like the Toyo Open Country M/T which is 35.1" OD in 285/75R18 will most likely require a cab mount chop.

Im planning on picking mine up in a week or so, still debating on size. I'm running the factory 20" 1794 Edition wheels. Ordering my rough country 2.5-3.0" 1" rear leveling kit on friday. Once I install that, I'll go snag the tires. Buddy of mine suggested 305/55r20. Said it would have minor rubbing on the fender liners at full lock in reverse. I want as much tire as I can get under there. Not sure.... I'm not a tire size guru. This will be my first rodeo doing any kind of lifting/larger tire upgrades. The toyo's look spectacular, and I've heard a lot of good things about them. Hope they'll fit! I dont want to go trimming/cutting anything.

Mounted 285/75R18 RT Trails on 18x9 Method 312 yesterday morning. Already had the front flap taken off. Needed to take off the mud flap off and then trim/tuck the front of the liner. No chop. Setup on Fox TRD Pros.

Grip was good over the rain in SoCal last couple of days... but I also was coming from well worn AT3W with 90,000 miles on them. Damn you Falken for getting rid of them.

that looks outSTANDING! Gorgeous rig, man.

I'm very satisfied with the tires I've got for now, I'm just ready to drop down to an 18 or possibly 17 inch wheel/tire combo so I can have more tire. Factory 20's are decent, but not exactly what I'm wanting. The tire is EXCELLENT in and of itself.

I recently ordered mine! Truck is actually in the bay getting them installed right now.

I ordered the 285/75R17 in the Open Country R/T Trail. My current setup is 35"x12.5r17 mud terrains, but we're towing the travel trailer more frequently and further. In the past I've run the 35's and swapped to stock tires/wheels when we tow, but that got old fast.

So, I'm aborting the two sets of tires, and going from 35" mud terrains, to the 285/75r17 R/T's. I believe that they are 33.7", so a bit shorter, a bit lighter, and will ride way smoother than my M/T's. These tires and a set of air bags is an attempt to keep the Tundra, and not buy a new diesel 3/4 or one ton.

20240302_131610.jpg Got mine installed this morning... At 285/75R17, they're a bit smaller than I would like, but I've been towing a lot more, so needed a size friendly with towing.

Looks kinda similar to kenda klever rt. Not a bad looking tire just not aggressive enough for me. I’ll stick with the mt’s

I've found that to be the case with these, I've got roughly 5k miles on them.
