All good. Been lurking on the forum and other social media outlets.

I needed to curb my spending on truck accessories. :anonymous:

The age old tires question, help me understand :)
I do plan on a lift within the next few months but would like wheels and tires 1st.
    From the 'Tires' thread:

    No Lift Kit
    Max tire sizes are:

    • 18″ rims: 285/65 R18 – 5/10ths taller and 4/10ths wider than factory. Trimming may be necessary.
    1.5 – 2″ Leveling Kit (or less)
    • 18″ rims: 275/70 R18 – One inch taller but same width as factory.
    • 18″ rims: 285/70 R18 – 4/10ths wider and 1.7 inches taller than factory. Trimming may be necessary
    I'm stock now with 275/65 R18's.
The tires thread says the biggest I can fit is 285/65
However with the tires turned and closest to the current mudflap/fender liner I have a solid 1.5" of clearence, prob 2 to 2.5" if I remove the mud flaps.

Why would 285/70's not fit with out a lift and or rubbing?

Certainly no expert on this, but I know that there’s some variation in tire width depending on the brand/style you choose. This video does a pretty good job illustrating that point.

    https://youtu.be/56HUcb-geYs

So if you really have that much clearance with your current brand of tires, you very well could go up to 285/70 (maintaining the same tire brand/style) and not have any issues with rubbing.

Some places will even test fit them to ensure there is no rubbing. I know Discount will do that, not sure about the others.

    Good info!

Currently have the Michelin LTX. I think.
Was considering Toyo AT or Nitto Terra Grapplr.
Probably on OEM wheels for now which are -60 offset. +25 would probably be better but not sure I can swing both right now.

You can always run spacers in the meantime which is what I'm doing until I get different rims with a better offset.

(Most) OEM are +60 offset. Around +25 offset seems to be the sweet spot for most setups. 0 or negative offsets start to poke out from the fenders quite a bit.

I have 295/70/18's which won't fit without a couple inches of lift. I'm lifted just over 3" in the front and 1.75" in the back. The spacers will run about $130 for a set of 2. Make sure to use a good brand like spidertrax or bora if you go that route.

Specs are in the signature below every post of mine...

but context being, that 18x9 +25 with 35x12.5r18s will fit on a truck with OE suspension without too much fuss...

Ha I have that exact page open, currently having my wife skim through it and call people. I just wanted to know if anyone had first had experience or even more awesome if someone down here owned a food truck.

    Hahah yes!!!
It’s actually a super active club and the dude who runs it gets some sweet raffle swag for events.
He’s a photographer so he has all kinds of connections and I think does trade out to make some of the events happen.

The reason why I cut myself off of social media... ATxAT is a money pit.

    • Bilstein 6120 front/5160 rear
    • 2016 TRD Pro 18" wrapped with BF Goodrich KO2s
    • 2016 TRD Pro skid plate
    • Valhalla cat shields (front and rear)

    Turned out great!

I'm about to pull the trigger on some cat plates, but I'm hearing a local guy is going to have them available in the next week or so. I'm on his list, so we'll see what happens.

One must exercise more self control....

eh fuck that. Not nearly as much fun, but only if you can do it while being fiscally responsible and wife approves (bribery is sometimes necessary)... DO IT!

Plates made out of aluminum or steel? How thick? Front and rear cats or just front/just rear?

Thank you, but you are an enabler...

You influenced a lot of the horrible buying decisions that I do not regret making. :p

Another thing popped up on my radar...Disneyland is selling their new "annual pass" program. :frusty:
