After talking with some people on another thread and some personal friends, I think I’m gonna go with 2 10’s in a sealed box. Here’s what I am currently looking at
Subs- 2 10” Kicker Comp RT
    https://www.kicker.com/comp-rt-10-2-ohm-subwoofer
    AMP - JL JD 1000/1
    https://www.jlaudio.com/collections.../products/jd1000-1-car-audio-amplifiers-98363
Box- sound off audio sealed box
    https://www.soundoffaudio.com/2014-21-tundra-crew-max-dual-10-or-12-sealed-subwoofer-box-behind-the-seat/
That should put me about just over $1k for this setup (not including additional costs like wiring and such), and then I just need to figure out for speakers/tweeters and an amp for them. Any suggestions are welcome, and if anyone has suggestions on changes they would make to the sub/amp setup I posted above lmk. I think it will work out well but any input is welcome!

Just do as much research on amp as possible. I've never had experience with the lower-end JL Audio amps, only high-end HD series (HD900.5 HD600.4) both amazing products. I still have the HD900.5 waiting to go into my Tundra and I used it hard for about 5 years, and it's still great.
But, I believe JL Audio doesn't actually make their lower- end amps, like the one you're looking. So look into that. I could definitely be wrong.

I have used Kicker CX series amps, and they were solid. And they aren't too expensive.

Just do lots of research. Good quality car audio that lasts is expensive. But, it sure beats replacing cheap stuff every year, or less.

I'd consider getting the sub box from James. It has an inch more of clearance for a 10" sub, and I'd pair that box with the biggest sub that will fit.
I tried 3 different types of shallow subs in my Tundra and was never happy with the bass of a shallow sub.

Seems like so far in my “research” there are a lot of happy customers with the JL JD1000/1 amp. Still trying to find more info about it possibly being made by someone else, haven’t come up with any answers just yet on that. I did however find another contender for me to consider… I know it never ends :)
This Pioneer is cheaper, and it’s pushing 800@2ohms so it would be perfectly matched with the subs rather than slightly above. But a lot of reviews seem to show that having this sub maxed out even for hours at a time didn’t have the amp overheating at all. A lot of reviews also talked about how they were skeptical getting a pioneer amp but we’re pleasantly surprised with it. I’ll link it below, might keep looking into this one though
    https://www.crutchfield.com/p_130GMDX971/Pioneer-GM-DX971.html?tp=115
why does there have to be so many options!!!!

edit*- I haven’t found anything wrong with the pioneer, however I do think spending a little extra money for the JD1000/1 would probably be worth it. Just seems more tried and true, and then I know for a fact that I’m not maxing out the amp

I think that you find yourself looking for more bass if you buy the cheap subs. I can tell you from my personal experience. I did the searching for many years. The ones I listed are the ones I have except for the new SI BM-11. It was released yesterday. These are the subs enthusiast run.

Search for data, not just customer reviews. Sound is subjective.

I just bought one for mine. I had to get a bigger sub amp too. JL has been around for a long time even though they were just bought by Garmin.

I like the t t box but there subs are garbage blow the first week installed.waste of money there. Luckily I had a old set of power bass 12” subs that fit in there just fine.

I'm currently working on a fiberglass enclosure. I also have (2) BNIB Audiomobile Evos 2410s for sale.
