    Too many TRD parts
Is it best to spray the pipes or to brush the paint on the pipes. Also how much is everyone spending on paint.

Is there a way in getting the exhaust tip off quickly? Loosen the clamp and just hammer away? Maybe add some WD-40 to the mix too.

    Thanks,

Paint pipes or have them powder coated? Also, how much down time is needed to paint pipes?

I drove around with not tailpipes while they were being painted. Not too bad.

I pulled off my TRD pipes (the hardest part was the rubber grommet - have plenty of lube and a large channel lock pliers), sanded them down, and used VHT spray paint. 2 coast of primer, 5 coats of metallic black, then two coats of clear coat. I spent an entire weekend day doing this, so as to allow at least 30 minutes between coats. Then I left them overnight and rebolted them the next morning. It really doesn't take a lot of down-time (and of course you can drive your truck without the tail pipes...), but it does not help to be in any sort of hurry. Also, when I say 5 coats - I used the thinnest of coats that I could manage to avoid drips or runs.

FYI; The black ones look cool but will rust quicker than the chrome ones, only 6,000 miles on my 2019 and it is rusted everywhere and I kept it cleaned.

Buy one on Amazon for under $60 shipped.

Same here with the premature rust on the OEM black tips. I couldn’t believe it after only one mild winter.

Threw an OEM black chrome one tonight. No reason you can’t install it further out than the “31mm” from the top like the instructions say, right? Not in love with how blatantly you can see the actual exhaust pipe and seems like the case based on some of the pics in this thread.
