Just reading this again. I need to clarify…….

I do not have the Carista dongle, I have the veepeak. With this dongle you get 1 week free with a year subscription purchase of the Carista app.

Does doing any of this void your vehicle warranty?

I haven't heard anyone say that they've had warranty issues using Carista.

Turned off the “engine” noise yesterday and it’s much better. Also did the AC change to -2 and it feels normal, ridiculous we should make these changes but I’m liking the ride better now.

anyone in AZ needs this in the next month lmk and I can update for ya. I got a free month and will be canceling before that.

Does Carista let you turn off the 8 beeps when you leave the truck running and walk away with the fob in your pocket?

I don't recall seeing that but may have missed it. They have the list of available changes on their web site.

Bugger. Thanks guys. That incessant beep annoys the hell out of me. It spooked a few grouse out of range when I was hunting last fall. Guess I'll just have to leave the fob on the console or something.

Is this the setting we are all changing to get the a.c to blow cooler? Any reason why everyone choosing to go with the -2°c vs. -3°c.
Shut off the fake engine noise. Definitely the way to go, why this isn't an infotainment option is beyond me.

ok, good to know. I bought the Carista dongle and after reading through the forums and realizing a Veepeak obd2 dongle works with the app, its getting returned.

    Edit: thanks!
Veepeak works great, maybe a little slower...

If anyone needs a Carissa dongle, dm me your address and it’s yours! I made the changes I want to do…feel free to pay it forward!

@rhinoj is getting it first, then he can pay it forward.

I found some good stuff for yall. It’s not related to Carista but hopefully this makes it to devs to implement it in their respective software for better user experience.

I recently updated my iPhone 13 Pro to iOS 18 and noticed Car Scanner showed up on my CarPlay apps so I started messing with it and it’s no joke all the real time info is now available to view on the screen. It’s still limited to value read outs like OBD Fusion but adds extra sensors.

This is the how the interface looks in CarPlay. Value labels are customizable and you can add multiple dashboards.

Thanks for posting this. I hadn't noticed that the Car Scanner app is now showing up for me on the big screen using Android Auto.

FWIW the support guy at OBD Fusion told me that not being able to show gauges on the big screen is a limitation dictated by Android Auto and Car Play. Hopefully that will change some day...

Has anyone tried or had luck connecting their Carista OBD to a different app, like Torque Pro?
Not sure if it matters, I'm using a Pixel 8.

I'm using the Carista adapter with the Car Scanner app and it also worked with OBD Fusion.

It’s been there since at late last year. I contacted their IT/App design folks to see about displaying in Analog or Digital gauges in CarPlay and was told Apple says NO as it could take your attention away from driving. Funny, mapping Apps do that and they can display 3rd party maps!!

Yup, seems like an arbitrary rule made up by some engineers in silicone valley who ride their e-bikes to work every day..... One could argue that glancing over at a gauge (LIKE THE ONES ALREADY ON THE DASHBOARD) would be less distracting than reading text but what do I know.

That's the one. If i remember correctly, it worked for a while then asked for a one time fee which was minimal. You need to select which PIDs to use and unless they've done an update there wasn't anything specific for gen 3 so I used one that was for 2016. Seems to work just fine.
