I'll ask when I get mine done this week, but I think most shops use the Llumar CTX series.

In WV, the state law is you can only have window tint on the top 5 inches of the windshield. But if you can't see the ceramic tint on the windshield, they won't have any knowledge and I'll easily pass inspection.

FYI Llumar just recently came out with a new top of the line film called IRX, supposedly 20% more heat rejection than CTX. That’s what my guy installed.

I saw it on their site. I'll have to see which one it is. Even CTX should be a drastic difference over regular tint.

Ceramic is more expensive but much easier to see out of at night. That is all I have on my truck on all 7 windows

This little BMW was awaiting pick-up after having it's windows tinted and clear bra protection added to the exterior. It has the standard ceramic tint that is installed on my Tundra trucks.

So I'm at the shop now. Removal of all tint, tinting 5%, and tinting the windshield.....489 total with Llumar CTX.

Ended up being cheaper than $489. They gave a 10% military discount. I'll take more pics tomm but you can see the tint on the windshield. It definitely cuts down some glare. They will add a dark strip at the top after it cures for a week. 20200617_131434.jpg

i got mine done for $250 all windows and whole windshield tinted ceramic. I gotta say this truck does not get hot at all. but then again its super white so not sure how much hotter it would be in a different color. my black Accord is considerably hotter on sunny days tho and that has non ceramic tint.

looks good brah. The windscreen is a bit dark for my taste, but you do you. I'm sure you'll notice the heat difference.

Also, do you have polarized glasses? If you do, see if you get rainbows while looking through the windscreen. I got them when I had ceramic tint on my windscreen, but I got used to it. I just stopped seeing them after a while.

If it wasn't for this and my sun shade, I wouldn't have been able to keep the clazzios here in the arizona heat. The tint makes all the difference in the world. I even got the front windshield done as well.

Do you have any problem with the sunroof tinted? I am interested in doing mine, but the installer told me he wouldn’t recommend it because it will get hot and the sunroof will shatter?

Had ceramic installed all-around last year on the car and I absolutely love it. HUGE heat-reduction, from un-tinted windows. Went with legal in the front, and limo around the back.

Got my truck back last night. Full ceramic treatment including window tinting. Window tint is Nanoflex, the premium offering by FlexFilm. Added 70% on rear windows and windshield and 50% on front door windows.

I got ceramic 3M tint on my truck a couple years ago. I made sure the front windshield was completely covered with see-through ceramic tent. Using my infrared thermometer, without the tent the dashboard got to 175, 180°. With tint it barely gets above 130 degrees.

There's no way to really tell it's on the windshield, unless you find one of the seams.

It has been a long time so I can't remember how much I paid. But I felt like 500 bucks is about right. If you live in a hot place, like Florida Texas anywhere in the south, it's almost a necessity. here in North Carolina it gets pretty dang hot and my truck is outside all the time. I figured I might as well get the heat off the dashboard, early in the truck's lifetime, cuz I plan on keeping it a long time.

I've had multiple inspections of the car every year by the state, they never once raised the issue there's tint on the windshield and it completely covers the windshield.

I had 3M Crystalline installed on my Pro about a year ago to include the front windshield and sunroof. It definitely helps a lot. My only complaint is how dumb Utah's 1994 tint laws are considering Utah is a desert! I don't like or need to be completely blacked out, but Utah is way too conservative. Imagine that! lol
    • Windshield: Non-reflective tint is allowed above the manufacturer’s AS-1 line. Must allow more than 70% below AS-1 line.
    • Front Side windows: Must allow more than 43% of light in.
