I will order a D7s once it’s on sale. Probably by Father’s Day or July 4th.

Was it straight forward easy to figure out how to program a key? Menus were convoluted last time i used a tool like this for anything.

Yes, it only took a few minutes. You have to buy a blank transponder key and then have locksmith cut it, then program it

Can it read coolant and ATF temperatures or can it be programmed to read for example ATF temp?

    Buy once cry once

I purchased an Autel MK808, ran me about $400. The first time I used it to reprogram parking sensors it paid for itself. Plus it’ll tap into just about any auto manufacturers CAN - you can get balls deep into most ECUs and really mess around if you’re so inclined. Keys, TPMS - it does it all.

Also made in China but mine hasn’t bricked a car yet :anonymous:

Thanks! I know Amazon is bad about jacking up prices and them putting them "on sale" during prime day!
Are you satisfied with this unit so far?

Yes, but it won't kill the seatbelt chime per their tech support. Just an FYI.

I’m looking at the D8. It’s the lowest price unit that will work to re-cal blind spot monitors. Ton of bread tho to bring back one feature. But cheaper than bringing to a dealer and it is a nice feature to have :monocle:

Autel is the one to get, but expensive but worth it when it works when you need it most

Do you know if you can unlock the ECU for the 5th TPMS sensor? The Autel MX808S is on sale on Amazon and I wonder if it will do it.

Autel has a feature table here -
    https://autel.com/us/vehicle-coverage/

It may or may not be helpful depending on how the module is identified. You can also give them a call and they can probably tell you if it’s supported.

Thanks. One of the guys here scanned his TPMS sensors with his Autel TS508 and it allowed him to add his spare to the display as well. He has a 2021 push start. Mine is a 2020 key start and my Autel TS508 wouldn't do it.

Picked up the D8 similar to @texasrho83 and @Nash615 for ~$335.

Seems to be a good scanner so far. Going to put it through its paces this weekend trying to do some calibrations

The MK808 is the global version so it will not have every function or capability that the US version model will.

Nope. It wont let you change the generic ID that is listed for a 5th TPMS sensor.

Just to add to this thread, I purchased the scan tool after seeing it on the "What have you done to your 2.5 gen today". I finally got a chance to hook it up and play with it, and was able to reset the alcohol density learned value which is the reason I bought it in the first place. So far, the truck runs fine. I'll be fueling it up after work to see the full results, and whether the density shoots up high again. But initial thoughts are positive.
