Installed Decked drawer system this week, loving it so far.
This is how my truck sits now.
    • bed rack: 80lbs
    • softopper: 40lbs
    • decked drawer system: 200lbs
    • spare tire carrier+spare tire: 200lbs
2 inch front and 1inch rear lift (with the 520lbs in the back it probably is even lower than stock?) and 37s. So I think it could actually look proper with the L59-121-R option.

Just documenting the set up as of today.

Front: 6112 on the 1.9inch lift notch (2nd from bottom)
Rear: 5160 with stock leafs +2 Coachbuilder shackles (planning on replacing the stock leafs with dobinson's medium duty leafs 121)
    Stock UCA
No BMC, removed the plastic parts behind wheel wells
    Tire: BFG KO2 37x12.5 r17 (load range C)
    Wheel: Method 705 17x8.5 +35mm offset

Took my son camping, slept in the bed on top of the Decked drawers system, absolutely love it.

Sorry if you've already covered this, but no BMC correct? 37s and no chop on stock UCA is crazy.

No bmc correct, daily on road driving is zero issues. However, under full compression up front, it does rub on body Mount.

Hey Cong, how is your truck tolerating the new tire size in regards to the speedometer readout and traction control performance. I figured a tire size increase like this could change how fast the truck engages the ATRaC

great question, going up in tire size from 32 to 36.5 inch definitely delayed the ATRAC's reaction time a bit, but since I have added the rear locker, it was not much of a problem. I used to have a 4th gen 4runner and went from stock 31s to 34s and no rear locker, and found out that the ATRAC was much less aggressive compared to stock ish tire size. It still gets the job done but then I think the sweet spot (imo) for 2nd gen tundra is around 35 ish. Another thing I found out that could affect the decision making is the engine brake on lower gears. I realized that I am on the brake much more often during steep declines compared to stock size, that is also due to the larger tire which decrease the effectiveness of the engine torque put on the ground. A regear could help but I am okay with it for now. hope that helps. cheers.

oh and the speedo is about (36.5-32)/32 = 0.14 =14% off, so if the speedo says 60mph then its actually 60*1.14=68.4mph. but the speedo inaccuracy doesn't bother me too much since I drive slow anyways. one good trade off is that the speedo would have 14% less miles than the truck actually has lol.

Thanks for the reply! I suppose lockers are probably a superior tool to ATRAC in a lot of off road situations. It’s interesting that you bring up engine breaking I never would have considered that.

My next curiosity is how well the truck handles daily driving in winter/slick conditions. Is the stability control still fast enough to be effective?

no problem, and as far as onroad daily, it's been fine with rainy days and all, never had a chance to drive the 37s in snow/icy condition yet, but with the extra sluggishness (reduced effective torque output) its probably going to do just as fine if not better? and for the slick condition stability control I am not 100% sure, however, thinking about it in my head, the traction control would kick in when it detects rpm difference in wheels? its hard to say. but I will certainly find out when it snows here in the mid-atlantic region.

Thanks for the reply! I’m slowly building my tundra into a more capable off roader. I’m enjoying the hobby more and more every time I hit the trails. I really appreciate your YouTube channel, it’s one of my favorites for off road content! Keep it up man!

    Oh no….
Found this thread, AND your YouTube. My wallet will never forgive me. lol.
Subscribed to your YT. Can’t wait to check out all the content.
Thanks so much for your help in answering my questions on other threads. I will lean into you for knowledge and wisdom as I continue my build journey, IF you don’t mind.

LOVE the rig. The look is near identical to what I have in mind for mine, and the application is certainly the same. My tundra is my daily, and our current only family vehicle. I want to be able to throw a cooler in the truck and go trail riding and camping at a moments notice.. again, thank you for the content and allowing us all to learn from it and enjoy!!!

Sadly, Tundra life is soon to come to an end, recent life changes won't allow me to easily climb in and out of a lifted truck on 37s, but I am staying in the Toyota family.

Thanks man, so far i am doing well, had a disc herniation (irreversible) late last year and it put me down for a solid 4 months. now climbing in to the beast has been not easy. a stock taco would be just fine.
