    Thanks @Maharisc for the dongle.
I got my vantrue n4 hooked up and everything works great. It was a bit tricky trying to find a place to tuck the dash cam where it wouldn't bother my peripheral vision, but decided to put it to the right of the lane assist camera.
One side note - this is the first car I have with a tinted front window. I used the suction cup that came with the dash cam, but decided to use an adhesive mount instead. After only 2 days, the suction had pulled the tint away from the window leaving an ugly circle mess. Didn't realize you're not supposed to use suction cups on tint. oh well.

Excellent, as for the tint - that sucks but another lesson learned... Enjoy.

I’ve used suction on tint before with no issue. How long ago did you have the tint put on? It may have not cured properly yet if it still new tint.

Exactly. My tint shop told me not to touch or attached anything for 3 weeks. I had another truck with a tinted shield and I used a suction cup mount without issues

I had it tinted just over a month ago. I wonder if its because the suction cup that comes with the dash cam also has the locking mechanism that pulls the suction cup even more.

I installed the factory cam, took about 10mins with zero issues. I left the visor clip alone, skipped that part.

@chiefbob did you end up getting the adapter from Dongar tech? I had ordered one and tried installing today but no power from USB no matter what i tried. the USB converter gets hot, but no power. curious if you had any issues if you did use that one.

Fyi for anyone else that buys this adapter it does in fact work, however mine was wired up backwards. Flipped wires and now works just fine.

EDIT: I got an email from Dongar and this specific one linked in the OP is not for a 2022 tundra but for older Toyota/Lexus models that are wired differently and as intended, not a mistake as I had thought. so if you do buy this one you will need to do what I did and flip the wires to the USB.

also, this is an always on adapter.

I contacted Dongar Technologies and gave Kevin a heads up on this need, Kevin is now providing this device. I still have 6 available @$25(Shipped)and will not make anymore as I didn't want to make a business out of this.

I also spoke with Kevin. And said he has the 10 pins already that will work at the back of the rear view but was able to re-pin the 5 pin one in the OP, like I ended up doing, as well as the option for always on and ignition on like you did.

Mine was $33 shipped which isn't bad at all. For a proper one you don't have to change that is :D

If you look at post #4 in this thread, there is nothing on the back of that rearview mirror to plug in to. Thus, I created mine. Interested to see what yours is as far as "proper one".

That wasn't a dig on yours but the one I bought redone to be properly made for the 22 vs the hack job I did.

As far as the rearview I was just repeating what Kevin told me without actually having first hand knowledge which tends to make me sound like an idiot. So there's that.

No worries, changing the pin can be a task/pain, not many can do that without damaging the pin or connector, I applaud you.

Chiming in because I keep getting emails about it. The Dongar 10-pin Type B adapter plugs into the mirror harness and doesn't require removing the overhead console. The adapter has been installed in many thousands of Toyota & Lexus which have been using this 10-pin mirror for the last 6-7 years, but just became standard equipment on the latest generation of Tundra. The connector is underneath the plastic shroud at the base of the mirror against the windshield and is completely accessible without tools. The 5-pin adapter on the Dongar site was only designed for their 5-pin rearview mirrors and should not be plugged into Toyota's "option connector" which coincidentally uses the same terminal housing.

Here's the location per photos from Toyota Tech Info for mirror connector on the 2022 Tundra:

I realize there will be confusion going forward with the 5pin and you are trying to point everyone to use the 10pin mirror connector. The mirror connector does not provide power when the vehicle is off. The "optional connector" in the overhead console provides both constant voltage (parking mode) and ignition switch power on 2 different pin/same connector. Pulling down the overhead console is as easy if not easier than pulling apart the panel behind the mirror. I have done it without tools. There is a lot more room in the overhead to store extra cabling and the adapter.
Toyota has been putting in the Integrated Dash-cam connector in the overhead/headliner for thousands of vehicles since 2019 and will continue to do so, there is a list of which vehicles here: https://www.toyota.com/owners/dashcam
I made the 5pin adapter for the optional connector and sold to a number of people on this form, most wanted always on for park mode on their dash-cams. I'm not looking to continuing and do this as a business, just giving people the option, that's one reason I emailed you (Kevin@dongar).

@Maharisc + just to keep everyone informed: The non-integrated dash cam does not use the option connector. The 4Runner's (earliest vehicle on your link) dash camera option still uses a hardwire + T-Tap kit to the fuse box. The 5-pin connector up there isn't present. From Toyota:

For the Tundra, I posted the official Integrated Dash Camera instructions from Toyota. Hopefully it helps you guys make the most informed decision about whether to purchase the OEM Toyota Integrated Dash Cam, choose your own camera + 5-pin option connector adapter in the roof, or 10-pin Type B adapter (once the supply chain/chip shortage in Asia works itself out, there's a shortage of USB converters everywhere). The 10-pin connector simply covers many more vehicles (hundreds of thousands since ~2013) but I can see how the 5-pin adapter would benefit base-model owners who don't have the autodimmer.

There actually is constant-on in the mirror but the Dongar adapter is wired as ignition-switched. Regarding constant-on cameras, I usually shy away from it because parking mode in dash cameras is limited in utility. The parking mode on the Toyota integrated dash cam or any current Garmin Dash Cam for example only records forward and activates upon detecting a collision. That means the camera will absolutely not record any door break-ins or somebody stealing from your camper shell. I can say that its better than not having a parking mode at all but the Dongar adapter is just wired as ignition-switched because not every dash camera has a sleep mode and I don't want to get people stranded.

Bravo Kevin, nice write up. Although, the 5-pin could benefit any 2022 Toyota owner as they all seem to have the optional connector in the headliner as well as a few models in 2021 (Sienna,Venza). The choice is up to them.

I have an unswitched (power always on) version of @Maharisc 's cable that I won't use, since I also bought a switched one and that meets my needs better. As new, still has Maharisc's mojo still on it.

First person to DM me gets it for $5 shipped if you can wait a couple days till it gets sent out.

awesome deal. I'm using an always on version as well and its worked great. I'd imagine someone could simply re-pin it if they wanted it switched.

Where are people installing the 2nd rear dash cam? Considering the rear windows roll down.. curious to see where people have installed the rear cam.

i imagine they are doing it like the 4runner installs. use a L bracket or J bracket at the edge of the head liner or cut a slit in the head liner to mount the bracket to mount the camera.
