I usually go with Corelle, you can buy a set or individual stuff, and they have some pretty patterns. I think they are the best quality overall, just my opinion, and they do have some stores around different areas, usually in outlet malls, or just shop online on their website.

    Happy plate shopping!

    This.
The kids start breaking stuff or somehow all but 2 of the bowls have vanished. Then we try to buy some stuff that ALMOST matches. Rinse and repeat x 3 kids. My low level OCD is screaming.
Broke down and bought this corelle. Looks nice, easy to replace, pretty tough for what it is. Someday we will be able to have nice things again.

Once our last one went to college my wife wanted a new set to replace the chipped stuff we had. We had them 2 weeks before I dropped one of the plates trying to load the dishwasher.

Microwave and dishwasher safe...I have dropped several into my sink and onto the floor and haven't broken them

They're cheap and durable and dishwasher safe

I especially like their large bowls for things like spaghetti or dinner salads

Sets sold online, singles sold in stores

Replaceable until the dish breakers move out.

Unless you want to get nice stuff and buy them their own set of cheapos.

The lady and I bought our set from world market and she’s broken more than my kid could ever dream of at this point.

OK, I have a crazy idea for ya. What if you locate a local artist and commission them to make your plates bowls? Support a local artist, keep money in your community, No shipping, get exactly the color/size/ pattern you want.

O..M..G.. Looks nice on the table but that storage color mix up is guaranteed to make an OCD type blow a gasket.

No idea what we've got, at least two different types of non matching crap from Ikea. I don't really give a hoot.
Just make damn sure that if anyone is going to serve me bourbon/whisky straight up it had better be in a heavy bottomed tumbler and if you put my Sabatier knives in the dishwasher I'll put you into the middle of next week...:smack:

Check the build link in my signature.
We’ve got a bunch of Buffalo China Plain white diner ware we bought like 18 years ago - originally 6 swings through Williams Sonoma, then added another 4 over time and some extra plates. Not sure if I can find replacements at this point or not, but in the time we’ve had them we’ve only lost two of the smaller soup bowls and have one dinner plate with a chip in it.

nothing else we’ve ever had has lasted that long…

I had two services of blue corelle and one of orange I got from my grandmothers. I donated the orange set in college and combined the two blue into one
My wife and I went to register for new plates at our 2011 wedding and went to look and see what new corelle was out there. We found white square and a leaf print pattern to be nice, but when we went to put a service together, we couldn't find a single box without a broken or blemished item. So we said, fuck it, there's nothing wrong with our blue corelle. We can go on ebay and get whatever extra or replacement piece we need.

For the Fiestaware, how does it do in the microwave? Our relatives have some of what looks like that and the plates / bowls heat up way faster than the food to the point I'd never even consider it in the house.

We use MiKasa at home. Heavy as F and it will chip if careless in the DW. Corelle for the camper. Lightweight and bombproof. Oh, also a "formal" set of something or other that we've used once in 40 years I think.

I dont have more than 3 matching of anything. But i've never bought any. Same with tupperware, they're all different and were all free. Most of whats left are from groceries i've bought because i could use the container. Works great. Mom and my dads mom like matching chy-na like white corningware or whatever, moms mom is more like me and has sets of three dating back to the 60's. But i do have a 12 place set of sterling silver cutlery, i've never had an excuse to use.
