I think the pro-rate thing is different— and good enough that it would make no sense to pay for certs if they don’t cover everything. I think you’re right about it depending on who’s at the counter.

DT may have changed their policy after you bought the certs. Did they give you a print out of the policy? That might not have any exclusions in it.

The pro rate went to the cost, of the new tire cert. The way it was explained to me anyway. I dont remember what all was said but was happy to pay 75 instead of 325

On the plus side, the guys in the back were Very Excited when the work order came out. I heard one guy (who later reminded me he put the tires on the rims that first time I brought Banner/Hulk in :)) yell to his buddies: “yeah, a Tundra!”

The only time I’ve seen them more excited was once when @papasmurf showed up in his truck to drop off rims. (Haha! I’m used to this. ;))

Eh, you could I suppose. Probably want to talk to the manager at the store you bought the tires and certs from.

Before I worked for DTC, I bought tires and was told “if it happens on a road then it’s covered.” My interpretation was that Pole Line road in ocotillo wells and John Bull in Big Bear are both “roads.”

Now that I work for DTC, I have cert’d tires out that had mesquite thorns from a customers “driveway on his ranch” and such. Very common here in Texas. And honestly the cost for the new free tire isn’t coming out of my pocket so... :anonymous::notsure:

There is no inconspicuous way to flag your account. If they made any type of note on your account you’d see it on your receipt. However, if you go in week after week trying to get tires cert’d our then someone might get suspicious of vandalism. After all, we can see every single transaction that happens on your account.

I do hate that you had issues getting your tire replaced. I hope that doesn’t steer you away from Discount in the future. We want every visit to be inviting, easy, and safe. Please know that it is not the norm for a salesman to give you a hard time about a tire that is no longer safe.

Perhaps that one store just sucks? Try a different one if another tire fails.
