That's the part I used in my '16. It fits, I think it's technically for a Sequoia which is why they show it doesn't fit the Tundra. You can also just cut the screen out of your current gasket.

Took apart and cut screen out and noise is gone.

Replaced the screen gasket with a non-screen gasket. Whistle went away and my mileage actually got worse. Anyone else with similar experience?

have a K&N air filter in the stock air filter box and got the annoying whistle. Removed the gasket and used dykes to cut out the screen. Reinstalled and no more whistle. just have to be careful to not deform the gasket when cutting out the screen but overall super easy. I think the intake may have gotten a tad louder but it could also just be in my head.

It absolutely, without a doubt fits. I put it in my 20 CM on day 2 of ownership along with the K&N.

Thank y’all for this thread! This whistle was driving me nuts for months. Changed the gasket out to one without the screen, and no more whistle!

Has anyone had the whistle still persist after removing the screen? I have the TRD CAI with the charcoal filter and screen removed but still get an annoying whistle at about 1/3 throttle.

Funny you mention this because the other day I swore I could hear the whistle again. I suspect it's much quieter now and I'm just growing sensitive to it. A swap back to the old gasket might make it apparent.

My whistle turned out to be the seal on the door mirrors, it had nothing to do with the air intake, filter or throttle body.

It's super weird. I am going to try a KN air filter vs the Trd filter. Even though they are basically the same, the KN is a deeper filter and I have heard people get the whistle with the TRD filter and not a KN filter. But then again I have heard people getting the whistle with the KN filter so who knows..... I will post my results later tonight.

Interesting, please do let us know. I have the full Airaid intake with a cone filter, not the OEM type flat panel filter that I think you have.

Well I don't have great news, I swapped out the TRD knock off KN air filter for a KN filter and the whistling might not be as high pitched anymore but seems to have spread over the throttle position range a bit more. I am okay with the noise for now since it's not as high pitched.

Also the TRD air filter and the KN filter are basically identical besides color, the KN might be a tiny bit deeper.

I wonder if I hadn’t removed the charcoal filter if the whistle would still happen. I almost think it wasn’t as bad before removing that

I still have my charcoal filter and have the whistle.

I heard something about it being the air that comes from the passenger fender

When I replaced the gasket the noise changed from a high pitch frequency sound to a noisy whistle sound !

I would say the same about mine. I am going to try cutting the screen out of the old gasket and put that in and see if there is any change. I seems that the ring of the gasket with the screen is more solid and not as flimsy as the new gasket without screen. I doubt it will do anything but can't hurt to try.

I can't really hear the whistle but I know exactly what you're doing because I can do the same thing and hear the whistle. Glad I am not the only person. I have yet to try putting the screened gasket back in but when I do I will let you know the results.
