Paddleboarders deserve to walk, just like crossovers dont deserve to merge.

Paddleboards are a good introduction to one handed get the dog (back) in the boat training. It makes the transition to a kayak really easy. If I don't have anywhere to be I would prefer to be on a good paddle board. You get to use a lot more muscle groups.

Never done it, but ive been on boats and had fist waved in my direction as they hunker down.

my dog has to climb in himself. Im no weakling, but 120lbs is a bit much squirming and one handed.

going kayaking today. Mom bought me an air up intex challenger k1 for my bday. I’d better test it out before i put someone in it.

I was speaking specifically to a First Generation Tundra (Year models 2000-2006) thread dedicated to those that tow using their First Generation Tundra (Year models 2000-2006) now featuring mostly second generation Tundras (Year models 2007-present). They are beautiful trucks, but they are posting their pics to the wrong forum which clutters up the feed. I come here to the First Generation Tundra (Year models 2000-2006) forum to read about topics that apply to my generation of truck. I believe that some innocently stumble into the wrong threads and start posting, but the thread is now overrun with content that does not apply.

Back on track here for ya @KNABORES
The trailer I rented fell through and this was my only other option. A bit bigger and heavier than I wanted but I made due. The rear suspension was only about 1” off the bump stops. Too close for my comfort.

Maybe they get heckled in the 2nd and 3rd gen forums for being over payload. So, they sneak in here with the cool kids.

This doesn't require much on your part. I can train a 200# dog to get in the boat and I provide to same assistance. With their front paws on top of the boat facing you, put your hand behind your dogs head, on the smart bump. with some pressure there, your dog will naturally wedge itself in the boat. It just takes some training so your dog knows how to line up properly. The dog does 90% of the work.

Your weight distribution hitch should be able to level your truck completely with no cargo. I am not sure how those chain hitches work. Could it have been tightened?

Yes, that’s the Andersen hitch. You simply tighten the nut to get more distribution. I usually have 8-11 threads exposed to get my front axle measurement back to unloaded start weight.

Yes I believe I could have tightened it more but they guy said he usually does 3 full turns past finger tight. Guess I should have gone more. Oh well..

I had to search “Andersen hitch” to see what it was. I’ve never seen them before. What a great design. I really like the infinite adjustability of the system. I’m adding that to my wish list.
BTW, one of the YT videos mentioned 4 full turns past finger tight.

There is no set amount of turns. You just measure the front fender height unloaded and tighten till you bring that measurement back with the trailer hitches. I like mine

It took me several trips to get my setup dialed in. I am constantly tweaking things still. First gen tundras are legendary.
