Hey there. @oogabooga289 I just received my bumper the other day and have since been trying to gather some info on it. Did your 3 piece bumper come in 2 big boxes? or did the bumper come wrapped by itself with a box. Everyone else has told me they got 1 box and 1 bumper. I ended up with 2 big boxes, neither one big enough for a solid bumper.

here's the two boxes. Both about 3 feet long, top one is roughly 9 inches tall and bottom one is about a foot tall.
they weight a ton, but like I said definitely not big enough for a full bumper.

Mine came like this>>>> (I already had unwrapped the winch plate which unbeknownst to me was not ready for prime time) >upload_2019-3-23_17-3-23.jpg

It came in two boxes identical to yours. The three main bumper pieces are nestled together in the larger box. The bumper pieces are each wrapped in about 1/8" foam to prevent scratches, which is secured with saran wrap strips. It's all wrapped in clear plastic bags/wrap. Then they shoot the whole box full of expanding foam that gets everywhere, but keeps it all padded.

The smaller box has the winch plate with the hardware and four lights nestled where the winch would go. There is no protection from these hardware and light boxes and the powder coat of the winch plate, so some chipping may occur here. But the winch plate (which contains the hardware) is all wrapped in the same 1/8" foam secured by saran wrap strips. It's wrapped in plastic bag/wrap, and then the same expanding foam was shot into it.

I just put it on last night, and the most "difficult" thing aside from removing the OEM parts on a 2008 rustbelt truck was figuring out what the hell bolts and washers go to what. Especially since the bolts, washers, and nuts for the old design (the upper and lower supports) are included. So you will have spare parts.

Interesting, glad someone else got it the same way I did! Any chance you could post a picture of what it looks like when fully done?

I haven't put in any of the lights since I'm not sure I'm going to use the ones the bumper came with, and there is no winch. Just the bumper all assembled and bolted to the truck. Hopefully the two angles help show what it looks like. It's dark out so garage florescent is the best I can muster right now.

Thanks so much for posting these! This has given me so much peace of mind! I was panicking for a bit that it was totally not what I thought it was. Looks super dope on the red tundras!

That turned out super nice! For all the headaches that seem to come with these bumpers, they (and of course the smittybuilts they're patterned after) have the best look of any of the aftermarket bumpers available to our 2nd gens IMHO. And they're definitely at the right price point.

Thanks! I don't care for the seams with the 3 piece design, but I definitely like the "generic" looks of the DV8. There are no logo cutouts or cringey design elements. It just has the small logo riveted on, which I might drill out later. But price is HUGE. I'm actually impressed they put thought into the packaging to make sure it didn't get messed up in shipping - no doubt as a response to the complaints they've received in the past.
