I’ve tried all 3. Unbuckle before and after Park and staying buckled. Still will shut down and restart in 1/2 a second in all 3 scenarios. I’m just using the button or planting the brake immediatley after shifting to Park to kill it and then shutting off the ignition.

I had this same complaint. Staying buckled solved it. Now turns off, but stays off.

Lately I have come to suspect that it's the automatic engagement of the parking break when you shift to park. I think the truck believes that the breaks has been pressed sufficiently and it causes the auto start stop to engage. I have never tried the seatbelt thing, that might be it as well.

Ugh! This is happening to me and it’s so annoying. Only Happens when I park, so I quickly push the ignition button before the restart.
Also, my first time backing up with a trailer, I didn’t disable the cone button and it slammed on the brakes, then causing the engine to turning off! Didn’t the car know it did that to itself ?!?

    Group buy!
I saw another item that had a picture that shows the truck having the warning it’s off at startup. We can’t win!

I had one of these sitting in my shop waiting before I ever picked up my truck. Installed as soon as I brought the truck home. Works great & I even installed one in wife's Lexus. Highly recommend.

Yup! That killed my OCD but now I don’t even notice. It’s worth it.

Love this thing. Don't care for the disable auto start/stop light on the dash but after a bit you don't even notice it anymore. One other bonus I have is my truck doesn't have the bumper sensors and while there are definitely advantages to them you don't miss what you never had anyway. I.e. promotes depending on yourself rather then some gadget doing it for you and just one more thing to break.

Sounds awful having a non hybrid worrying about if you press the brake hard enough or having to press a button everytime to keep the engine running. Glad I went for the superior choice.

99% of the time I would get a notice that the battery was being charged and auto shutoff could not be engaged. Never seemed to matter what was going on. Drive it down the interstate for 1 hour and come to a traffic light...battery charging, stop and go traffic...battery charging, just got in the truck and stop at the first light...battery charging. honestly I was kind of glad.

car care nut has a video on the start/stop and if i understood it right the truck does a load test on the battery automatically and if voltage drops below a certain amount it disables the start/stop. He states batteries for these vehicles are different from the standard batteries and are labeled as start/stop. He goes on to say if you put a standard battery in the truck when it would do a load test it might keep the start/stop disabled.

I fine with hitting the button off every time, But I can't stand the light on the dash.

Apparently I must have installed a standard (Autozone) battery in mine. Stop/Start hasn't activated since I replaced my factory battery. Kind of nice to know.

    Thanks for posting this video.
I could never figure out why it wouldnt stop the engine every time I pressed down hard on the brake.
This video explains all the conditions necessary for it to allow it to happen.
It also explained the weird “battery charging” message I would see when expecting it to stop the engine but didn’t.

So when you have factory battery what's the explanation? I assume it is an indication that there is something wrong or on the way to going wrong with the battery.

I have noticed that since I swapped over to a bigger X2 battery, the start/stop feature is ALWAYS available where before it wasnt because "battery charging." It'll stay off for longer too.
