Every time I change the oil in the Tundra, the Tesla mocks me.

I have yet to do anything to the MX in ~8k miles.

I don’t understand that side. Pro EV, and then Elon is here to help with much needed changes, and now they hate Tesla. Idiots

I would chime in on this, but fear it would turn this way to political and ban hammer ensuing. Not saying that what these people are doing is right as destruction of property, especially to someone's private property, is to me one of the worse things you can do. But, the feeling I get, or IMO, is you have someone that wasn't vetted in the proper channels, clearly having an influence on the President. Even going so far as turning him into a car salesman for your brand.

IIRC, people were keying, running Tesla's off the road, brake checking, ramming shopping carts into, and "terrorizing" Tesla owners back when the P100D's were out. Even further back with the Prius'. But now that the other shoe has dropped, this is domestic terrorism? IDK. Just seems hypocritical. Once again, not condoning what these individuals are doing.

Elon has done some great things in moving the needle to having more options and raised the bar in so many industries, but medaling in the politics of things, like any celebrity, to the degree he is, sits sour. Do I feel the government was overspending on programs; absolutely. Did they need to audited, yep. But to do it with out consideration of the impacts on what it means to American lives, it feels like deliberate chaos causing, then to only backtrack. To me, makes them look weak, irresponsible, and incompetent.

I'm not against EV's as I think I've made my stance clear that they aren't for everyone, but for most people in their day to day, an EV makes sense. I'd still consider buying a Tesla as a commuter, but I don't have to like the guy in charge. Hate the player, not the game scenario.

I will end it here as this will can take this off track really fast. But I think the people now complaining about what is happening to Tesla need to look in a mirror as well.

The people that are commiting these arson and shooting attacks are terrorists plane and simple.
And when they get caught they will be facing Federal charges as well.

    Strongly disagree.

Elon is VERY qualified to do this job. some would say the very best qualified.

He is simply getting rid of waste.

the worst kind of waste....waste of taxpayer money.

and why should Tesla owners look in the mirror?
    for what?
    what did they do?
    did they incite violence?

FTR - I never ever heard of Tesla incidents in the past.

Not Tesla owners having to look in the mirror.
Not saying Elon isn't qualified, but to go through and strike programs without doing the due-diligence is reckless of an "agency" that isn't truly an agency. It is going to cost people their lives. Matter of fact, I have family that it is directly effecting and all they want to do is help.

I get needing to look at how programs are funded. The insurance industry is probably the worse, aside from the military budgets. Having to spend $300 on a Tylenol is absurd. Or a $150 lug nut for a Humvee. It needs to be examined, but methodically.

Again, not trying to start anything. We are all good people here. I just have a different approach as to how it DOGE is handling it.

Dates back 3 years ago. And this was 2 seconds of google. Also, don't know the persons' motive, so it can be taken with a grain of salt.

Whatever this forum told me to do

    eh.

folks that have "worked" for the gov are not entitled to life long compensation.

and the folks in question are not "working".

the ones that are, are safe.

also...it is getting looked at VERY methodically. by a bunch of nerds combing thru the database.

which, clearly, has not been done for decades.

sure all those lifers will be pissed.

but my tax dollars are getting wasted

and government spending is simple taxation.

    let's be efficient. for once.

I recall the previous administration holding an EV Summit. Drooling over the Big 3, trying to increase sales.

I get your above point about the sweeping layoffs though, it's messy.
There's a lot of useless fat getting cut but no doubt some quality workers are getting let go, hopefully the productive ones will get rehired.

It does put a twinkle in my eye to think about all the Gov workers getting fired that demanded healthy people lose their jobs for refusing a new drug a few years ago.

Every person vandalizing and destroying Teslas is punishing Elon for committing the sin of not only leaving their perceived tribe, but supporting and working for the chief of the other tribe.

How dare he. How dare he ruin the self-perception of environmental protectors that we enjoyed driving his cars.

In the early 90's, a certain highest office holder with a last name that begins with the third letter in the alphabet fired over 371,000 feds with a measly buyout. But this time it's different? Ah......not really

Just an irrelevant thought/comparison on Tundra vs Tesla.

I can now compare the Tesla vs the Tundra as it relates to the Beltway 8 ship channel bridge in Houston.

The Tundra, on cruise control @ 65mph, approaches the bridge and manifold air pressure increases as we go up the incline.

Then, the TC unlocks, MAP decreases – 1/3 up.

Then, it drops out of 6th to an unlocked 5th gear. MAP hangs around 3psi

The exhaust note is nice during all of this.

Things relax once we crest. MAP drops to -18 and we coast.

    The Tesla

    Cruise control at 65mph

    Nothing.

It just goes up the hill.

    No noise

    No gear changes

    No surges

When traveling alone….I prefer the bitchin’ and belchin’ of a S/C’d Tundra

    With passengers…the Tesla rules.

So, you're saying the Tesla is the equivalent of the chick that will do anything in bed you ask for, but will essentially just lay there the whole time w/o emotion, and the Tundra may challenge you a bit on certain 'acts', but the ride will have heart and soul :D

Tundra it is for the win!!!! :hattip:

The common definition for terrorism is politically motivated violence against people and property conducted by non-state actors, usually for political ends. Under that definition you could possibly say that the keying of Teslas and vandalizing of charging stations done by conservative / reactionary types was terrorism, but it was so low grade that it seems more appropriate to just call it vandalism (not that it was ever justified). Arson and threats of arson against dealerships, vehicles, ect., is much higher stakes with the potential to hurt more people and cause more property damage, so it makes sense to call it terrorism.
