Anybody got insight as to when the black tip version of this is getting back in stock? Everybody seems to be sold out and no time table on when the national back order will be fulfilled.

agreed 100%. Had a Borla on my SC Gen3 Tacoma. Ended up with the TRD Pro Exhaust as the final solution. Not saying this choice will be the same but we at least have options. Hope it works out to your liking. I'm happy if you're happy. Enjoy.

Does the TRD dual exhaust tip change the exhaust tone at all since it removes one resignators?

From what I’ve seen on 2 trucks, vs mines is it’s a slightly bit louder especially during cold start ups, and when giving more throttle, otherwise in city driving sounds almost same.

I am considering upgrading my exhaust. One of my concerns is the computer. This truck has a far more complex computer than the
09 Ford truck I upgraded from, so I honestly have no idea how a less restrictive exhale would effect the computer, maybe even throw a check engine light. Anyone have any thoughts?

I’ve never had a cat back exhaust throw a check engine light unless you started cutting sensors. As long as you don’t do that and keep the same diameter tubing you’re fine.

That's good to hear. Thanks for the reply. Now the challenge is to find one I like the sound of. That part isn't going well for me...

Yeah that was the hardest part. Unless you find a local group and go hear it for yourself it’s hard to gauge the sound from videos. It was either DD or Carven and I went with Carven because of the price. What I heard online sounded good and I knew I wasn’t going to be like the people who made the videos, pegging the throttle etc.

I went with the clamp on system that keeps all the resonators so it’s very very mellow. I’m extremely happy with it.

I'd go Dirty Deeds and not look back. Give Keith a call.

Hey all, I'm considering upgrading my exhaust as well. I've watched a bunch of videos but still have some questions. I want a moderate sound increase, but I don't want to deal with the dreaded drone at 2k RPM. Considering AFE, Magnaflow, and Dirty Deeds (maybe Borla if they ever get something to market). I'm also interested in the Carven cut/clamp as that is a similar design to the DD. Does anyone have experience with the DD or Carven slip-on exhaust and the stock, non-resonated TRD end pipe? I'm leaning that way at the moment, but I don't want it to be obnoxiously loud under normal conditions.

I would go with Dirty Deeds. I got in touch with Keith a few years ago.
Talked with him about what I wanted. He asked questions. He answered the ones I had.
He finally gave me a few quotes.
I ended up purchasing an exhaust kit from him.
I installed it myself. Took about hour.
Removing factory exhaust and installed his 8" Stainless System.
    No problems.
    Still love the exhaust.

Hmmm didn’t even see them on a radar, but sound doesn’t sound bad, and price is fairly decent as well. Definitely something to consider. Thanks for finding it.

Stillen or aFe would be my choice.

Yeah, I've had Stillen parts in the past on other cars and thought their quality was top notch. I'm leaning towards it. I'm just surprised more people don't have it. I'd like some feedback from someone that actually has it on their truck. It sounds good in the video but you know how that goes. Always a little different in person.

I did the carven on my 2.5 gen, muffler only. Its only 100 bucks and took it to a muffler shop to weld on for another 100
Its essentially the same as their bolt on kit only its 2.5 inch out instead of the 3in for the bolt on.

I stumbled upon the Stillen as well during my search but didn't see much on feedback. At the end of the day, we are splitting hairs on performance gain for a relatively stock setup. For me, it's all about the best sound without losing performance and maintaining comfort and drivability.

I went with the Magnaflow 19602 cut and clamp. Got 20% off and free shipping at Hottexhaust (Black Friday deal). I’ll get a generic, black dual exhaust tip later when I find one I like.

I did the Magna flo street series the sound is good & it kinda reminds me of an exotic sports car.
I'm eager to hear what the new Barola has to offer.

Man! I wished you would have chimed in 3 weeks ago when I pulled the trigger and bought it. Aggressive pricing would have been nice haha I've had it on for about 2 weeks now and it sounds great. Exactly what I was looking for. The first couple days I had some droning going on during certain gears but it stopped. Love it so far!

I live near your shop in Costa Mesa. I just bought a 2023 TRD Sport. Purchased a TRD tail pipe due to sale prices this month and then received word about the long back order, so I recouped my money. I’d gladly throw some your way if this offer still stands…

Simple mod, turn down/dump right after the stock muffler, all plug and play (no cutting), removes the small resonator and exhaust tip hanging behind the rear tire.
