I agree with you too, that looks too aggressive and doesn't match the rest of the truck's styling. I'll keep sticking with the OEM style linked at the bottom.

No need, I'm pretty sure I have one last spare knob. Gimme a shout.

I know I sent a spring to @abcinv and I sent a full knob to another member I don't remember. I should have one remaining.

I would say ... there is a way, just not any time-affordable way to do it in bulk. For example...

But I also agree. Those are hideous. They look like they have a felt face and too angular/chunky for how smooth and linear the center dash is. But I feel like the red backlighting is also pretty hideous so ...

I just got around to installing this clip / spring you sent me. I pulled it out of the bag and was like where the frack does this go. I bet I looked at the knob for two minutes before I saw the slot for it...

Anyway it was exactly what I needed, thanks again!

Killer! Glad it helped. I think I sent my last remaining OEM knob to @KK6PD a few months back. My clock is all out of whack the last two years, hell if I could nail down the date!

While we’re on the topic of climate control knobs, is the a how to or anything showing what all needs to be cleaned/greased? Mine are stuck:bananadead:

plus do the replacement knobs come with the little metal clips?

Can't speak for OEM from dealer but would hope they did. As for most of the Amazoom links on first page of this thread, if you hover over the pics in those links, they show a pic of clips, so assume they do ?

I’m missing one after updating my bulbs - any chance you still have this?

Possibly. I gave the one I referenced to @abcinv. I definitely still have a spare knob left, I’m pretty sure. But it may be the cracked one. That said, if the clip popped out on you, it’s probably because your original is cracked. What it’d cost for me to ship a replacement knob is on par with what you’d pay for a replacement knob, though. And this may be a good time to update to the new style round knobs many are using from scAmazon. Specifically the JDMCAR knobs.

My lights are burned out. How do I go about getting that panel popped off? You didn't happen to snag any pics did you? I've wondered for a while where do I even start taking the dash apart.

3 screws behind each of the knobs. 2 up top just aim the vents upward and you’ll see them. Then pop the panel out.

No problem - there are screws behind the vents and behind the control knobs.

There’s a good video on YouTube that will walk you through it. Recommend upgrading to LEDs, really makes a difference. The description on his video also provides links to the LEDs on Amazon.

    https://youtu.be/H1MKCgnfCu4?si=tioulgsdR1Z3S90W

While you’re at it, might as well update the dashboard LEDs, door panels, overhead, cargo bay and license plate. It’s not that much $$$ and makes a world of difference.
If you put in one of the LEDs and they don’t work pop it back out and rotate it, they are specific in some cases.

Correct, LEDs are polarity sensitive due to the D in LED, meaning diode. They only flow voltage in one direction unlike incandescent.

Best to check your LED converted gauge cluster or HVAC controls by plugging the harness in real quick to make sure everything illuminates before full reassembly.

Just like mentioned above, if it doesn't illuminate, remove and rotate 180*.

    Two points here:

    1. Not all LED are polarized. For example, the lifetime warrant ZEVO bulbs from Sylvania I installed in my dash are not polarized. They work every direction and cost a lot, but again, lifetime guarantee.

    2. Be sure to save the green jelly condoms some over the OEM bulbs in case you want green output back some day. And note: Those condoms dumb down the brightness a bit, so when you switch, expect it to be 4x brighter light. 2x because you remove the condoms. 2x because you upgraded to LED.

You are both correct - all LEDs are polarized and current flows in one direction, however many, especially in resi lighting, have reverse polarity protection built in. Some that I purchased did not, and had to be flipped for a couple.

Left out that you should NOT replace the bottom dashboard lights with LEDs ie check engine light etc. doing so is reported to have them illuminate constantly instead of when triggered.

I went with these, I like them but during the day it's hard to tell where the pointer is. I got some white nail polish and put a small dot behind the led indicator. All good now.

They do, I just pulled the original one's when I installed a new head unit and pressed these on when putting it back together.
I like the way it gives it an updated look.
