Eagle Rare is a ten year old bourbon made by Buffalo Trace. It’s a good tasting bourbon at a good price point. I buy it pretty often to gift to workers and or friends. They make a 1.75L bottle that’s very large and impressive looking displayed on a bar top.

Good to know. I think I'll pick up a bottle next week when I go grocery shopping. At only $35 that's near Jack Daniel's pricing.

If your life's experience with whiskey is Jack Daniels, your beer store may be disappointed after you try good bourbon.

Ha, no, I've had the good stuff before, just not the Eagle Rare. I do however keep some Jack on hand for mixed drinks. I like a Jack and Coke Zero every now and then, but not going to dump Coke into a good expensive bourbon.

I'd definitely grab a couple of them. For now, they are accessible and affordable (in most places), but I'm sure that will change...

We've got reasonable access to both BT and ER at MSRP (regular versions of both products). State owns and runs all liquor stores, so any rare offerings for us are routed through a state drawing; surprisingly it was determined at the end of last year that all of those rare bottles were not making it to consumers. Imagine that :mad::mad::mad:

Nice, it’s ridiculous around the Gettysburg area. Ever liquor store stock level is terrible. May need an excuse to drive to West Chester

I built my whiskey wall to small. It’s full so I really messed up. At least with a bigger space I could have told the wife I NEEDED to fill the shelves. Now I just cowardly sneak in bottles and hide them behind the front bottles and pretend I’ve had them for ‘a while’ haha

My wife knows I buy new stuff all the time. She asked me the other day “don’t you have enough already?” I told her “nope”. Lol She knows this is a hobby and an interest for me so she doesn’t get to worried about it. Plus I don’t drink that often even though I have a lot.

Same boat here. My wife will actually even pick up things she knows I'm looking for, or if she sees something interesting we haven't had she'll grab it. Sometimes she doesn't realize it's something we have had or do have.. We don't drink much either, but it's nice to have a quality variety when the mood arises.

It helps that we keep a pretty large wine collection too..

If civilization collapses tomorrow I have enough ammo and booze to barter that I think we'll do relatively well.

Just getting into bourbon (have a lot of friends deep in the rabbit hole), so I wanted to get something I knew would be good to start. Took a lot of hunting, but finally found some today!

Found the antique tonight. Apparently some stores in Idaho like to hide their rare or limited bourbon all over the store in random spots…anyways my brother found it on the bottom shelf behind the grenadine.
