Nope! ha ha. I'm 6'1" so I sleep corner to corner (diagonally) with a Klymit air mattress when I'm solo. It works. I recently got a Rightline Gear SUV tent. It's a regular 4-man tent with a huge zipper opening on the side to attach to the back of a truck (with shell) or SUV. I'll probably be using that this next hunting season.

FWIW, I looked into a Decked system. $1200. I prefer it, however, I like the removable center section of my DIY wood deck so that I can fit that large ice chest. When it's full, it's a PITA to lift. If I had the Decked system, I'd have to lift it even higher, which would be a bitch if I was by myself. Plus, with the space for my ice chest, it doesn't slide around and i don't need to strap it down. It also doesn't hurt that my DIY build cost maybe $100.

Sorry he is not on here. His top is a leer brand and is color matched. Looks very sharp!

Another super nice bonus with canopies is the ability to put mountain bikes in the back. We just lower the seat droppers and take the front wheel off. Use a fork mount that is mounted to a base plate (removeable) and then you can secure your bike inside without it being exposed to road grime and dust, as well as methheads.

Is that the one in Signal Hill? I keep coming back to the Snugtop Rebel so that dealer would be a great stop

Thanks. Not quite twins, but I suppose my kids could use them without the middle section. My fat ass needs that middle section in there, and I sleep diagonally across the entire thing.

Picked up a used SnugTop from an individual a week ago. SnugTop is the Cadillac of toppers per the dealer I called. Got it for $1500...new was over $4,000! Was the right color already so I didn't have to have it painted.

I'm not a huge fan of the curved rear end. Or the fact that it covers half the TRD stickers but I think all canopies do that.

I hear ya. It does have one cool feature. The front window is on struts like the rear and when the latch is released it hinges UP and stays. Kinda tucks right up against the roof. So when ya roll down the truck's rear window, it is a solid pass-thru. My dogs are diggin' that!

Yeah, I would have liked that feature but I'm hoping the sliding and removable front window in my Leer will work for me.

Very nice! Mine is hinged with latches, but to open, it folds down into the bed. Wish it would go up like that, which is a smarter design. Also wish I got the side windows that are hinged so I can access gear without opening the back.

I know I know, about the twins. I may have embellished a bit. I remember seeing a post a few years ago about a build. It was a sleeping platform storage thing. If you took an aerial view picture it would have looked like an advent calendar.
Some small, some long and larger storage cubbies. All had recess handles and carpeted. It was bitch’n. It was only. 2x6 on edge. So the think wasn’t very tall.

I would love to do something like that.

I would have gotten the Decked system if they made it similar to my design, to fit a large ice chest in the middle. This way, the weight of the camping gear and tools that I keep in the back 24/7 are evenly distributed between driver and passenger when I don't have a full ice chest back there. When I do put a full ice chest, it's centered and thus, the weight balance issue is maintained.

I was lucky recently to find this one for my 2015 and it is already color matched..........to the guys truck that I bought it from!
But I paid $100 and have never seen another Long Bed Tundra shell used anywhere so I plan to paint it myself probably Black Bedliner and call it a day.
Also has the Windoors which are really handy and is from a 2nd Gen truck but mine is a 3rd Gen truck.
It turns out that the only difference between the 2 gens back there for this is 1.5" at the cab end! I made a 2"x2" aluminum angled flange for back there and BAM I should be in business!

One of my friends hates it so much like it is now that I am considering just leaving it like this!

I have the CM so the short bed isn't long enough to sleep comfortably especially with my partner. I was looking into the camper shell method for some camping trips because its not as costly as a roof top tent... I dont see myself going on many many trips so doesn't justify the cost for the RTT.

Mine has a front slider and side vent windows.Driving with the rear window down still has a ton of airflow. If you're like me I have the side windows down and adjust the rear for max airflow with minimal noise. Works great. Or if you had a bunch of Sierra Nevada and garlic burgers the night before and you need to clear out the cab real quick.

My shell was 3200 I think , heavy duty ARE CXHD. My RTT was a skyline hard shell from Costco. Can’t remember exactly but on sale Silver wing roof top tent. They go on sale now and then 200 off. Comparable to a Roofnest.

holy crap. 3200 for a shell? i think i paid about 1800. water proof, carpeted, sliding side windows and hinged front window, double locks, matched paint color. not sure what extra comes with a "heavy duty"...maybe stronger for a roof rack? mine is wired for lights but did not come with interior light. Damn 3200 is a lot.

    My first shell was 1200.00!
The heavy duty has an internal frame and will support 600lbs . See pics a few posts before.

OK so last night I picked up this one pretty cheap too and a friend wants to buy the red one so BAM!

Now I need to consider painting this one Red too to piss the other friend off who hated the Red one so much?
