That's a good question. I am on the fence with paying someone to do the install for me. I was able to get the pop n lock installed fairly quick without a fuss, but I think this will take a little more time and obviously have more wires to deal with. I have watched the Youtube video @BlueBottle referenced probably 5-6 times so I feel like I can definitely do it in turn making myself feel more accomplished doing it myself. I have have a 2.5 yr old and a three month old so time is few and far between sometimes. Now this is just me rambling...but Ebay says it is arriving today by 8:00pm, so who knows, I might have an update by next weekend if I feel ambitious!

Mine arrived...now I'm waiting on my buddy that was a mechanic at a new car dealer for 30 years. He watched the video, and said it looks pretty easy. Just have to wait til he has time.

If you start the truck with the remote (15 minute run time) after say... 14 minutes, can you send the start command again to extend run time an additional 15 minutes?

We installed mine yesterday...had a minor programming glitch, Scott at Anderson Electronics was very helpful in getting it resolved. I was pleased to find out my remote unlock worked while the engine was running. Apparently, some require using the key in the door to unlock.

So your saying you need to physically use the key to unlock the door and can’t use factory unlock botton? While the engine was started by remote start?

From what I've read, on some Tundras, the remote unlock will not function while the engine is running. Mine worked fine.

We finally got mine installed and working. It was opening the locks after starting, so we dug into the schematic and disconnected one of the connections, just to see what happened. It worked perfectly. Scott was super-helpful in getting the problem resolved. No more getting into a cold (or hot next Summer!) truck when I leave my shop.

The only reason I haven't ordered this yet is waiting to find someone who can install it for me. I have zero wiring experience and don't think I trust myself to get it right.

Ordered this little gem today too...what the hell, right? It'll give me something to do while I wait on the exhaust to get here. What can I say, Blue has good taste in mods! Ha.

Thought you might offer to drive up to Guntersville one day. Ha. I'll keep that in mind. Especially if no one closer wants to help.

Hoping to install mine later today or 1st thing in the morning. I noticed difference in your wiring. On the 20 pin connector you need 3 wires, the website I just printed mine out says I need 4, the white/black is needed, everything else is all the same.

The white/Black is the hood latch. My truck has the sensor built into the hood latch so it is programmed to see it through the obd port. If you don’t have the built in sensor then you white/black wired to the hood plunger they supply.

@Berdine , we should set up a time to Facetime @BlueBottle to walk us through a couple steps. We could pass him a $20 to compensate him for his time. I feel like I am going to get 90% of the way done and limp through the remaining parts.

1 more question, what did you use to tap the yellow wire from the 20 pin to the pink wire in the toy2 harness? That's a thick wire in the harness.

I know the unit comes pre-flashed from the seller referenced, but how often does Fortin push software/firmware updates? Should I go ahead and get the flashlink when I order in order to do any post-it stall updates? Or is that not necessary?

Waiting on mine to get here and been gathering as much information as I can before it does. I’m very limited on electrical knowledge, but I think I can handle this. One question, am I correct in that D1 & D3 connect in the same location, as well as D4 & D6?

Yes, you cut the wire at the stock plug, and hook them to the ends that were cut for both

So they just create a loop?
