    ^^ that's what it sounds like to me. Sounds like op is just wondering why one shock angles to the front and the other towards the back.

    Downside it makes passenger side harder to remove due to less room to manuver

    Yes , picture 1 clarifies what I need to know, driver side. Apparently, someone put the shock in the front hole.
