I must live on a different planet. I had to gun the 4.6 to get any decent pickup from a standstill unlike my 4.7 but I did drive the 4x4 AC cab configuration for both. (double cab for the 4.6).

In the higher rpms my 02 4.7 can’t compare to the pickup of the 4.6 though.

I got half a tank @ 12mpg while i didnt have headlights, just driving around the yard and to the mailbox & whatnot, but even towing the tractor i got 14.4, and before that hadnt ever got a tank under 16mpg usually 17-18.

As long as it takes less than 10 sec to hit 60, its fast enough.

Nah, everyone knows Toyota designed the RC/AC to mimick the F150, and the Sequoia after the Explorer.

Everyone - at least everyone not in denial :D - knows Toyota followed that trend and designed the later-introduced DC after this monstrosity, keeping on-trajectory:

    Resemblance is uncanny...

That skinny back seat is my insurance I'll never get knees in my back, and the dog always has an area to sprawl out when we go on adventures

Yeah but with an "inferior" back seat, your doggy could lounge comfortably and watch Lassie....just sayin !
I mean what dog owner would want to deprive Fido of that :p

We all know the superior cab configuration. Just enough room to be useful, just enough to not have to chauffeur people.

I almost bought one of those in place of the Tundra. As soon as I drove it though, I walked away after driving it down to the end of the street and back.

    No powah.

I have ZERO doubt in my mind Toyota modeled the DC off the Sport Trac and its evolution out of the SUV, especially after how closely they mimicked the F150 and Explorer with the 1GT and Sequoia, respectively. Given the Sport Trac launched in 2001, just 2-3 years prior to the assembly line churning out the 1GT in DC format, it's not a stretch at all the DC was a copy of the Sport Trac.

For the DC to be an offshoot of its SUV cousin (versus its actual truck sibling) same as the Sport Trac, and the fact the Sport Trac share some parts but has more similarity with the SUV than it does the pickup ... and the lines seeming uncannily similar, the way the cab lines arc down at the bed like that, the cab shapes, it's all ... yeah. Y'all DC folks are driving a Sport Trac clone. It's BETTER than the Sport Trac, by light years, but still...

Yet they have no 2-door Sequoia copied after the 2-door Explorer. I would’ve bought one of those. Price would’ve been comparable to the Tundra pickup.

Yeah, the Rav4 doesn't really fit due to size, I suppose. I'm curious what the thought process was for the RAV4, actually. I wouldn't mind having a 1st gen 3dr hardtop RAV4.

I'm closer to 6 and I sleep semi-regularly on the rear bench in my 2.5 gen DC. Traveled with 3 friends, about 20 hours total, two of them were 6' tall, they sat in back and didn't complain.

I've had both . . . IMO the AC would've been better served having a 'fold-down' rear jump seat.
That would've free'd up a fair bit of the wasted space, and still provided a place to sit.
The phrase 'Rear-Seat Delete' comes to mind.

No but a small amount of AC's had a power sliding(horizontal) rear window from the factory. Not as cool as the DC though.

I have it stuck in my head that was primarily a Limited trim option for AC, at least.

I'd need to defer to the king of package knowledge, @BubbaW on this one. It's possible it was just an '05+ or '04+ feature or something. He's got some warchest he keeps all the trim package knowledge in, and I have the worst time trying to figure it out, so I don't even try.
