Yes, unbolt the lower ball joint from the control arm, sway bar, and loosen adjustment cams on control arms. I didn’t even unbolt the lower shock bolt on the second side. Just unbolt top bolts and pull strut assembly out at top and slide in spacer. Alignment only had the toe out of spec.

You are correct, the first ones will NOT fit. Forerunners and Tacomas have the same bolt pattern, but different stud and hub sizes. Several people have purchased them and found out after the fact.

As far as the last ones are concerned, they are the TRD Pro wheels, and would fit just fine. I'd recommend scouring Facebook Marketplace, and be willing to jump on a set if they come up for sale within your driving distance. I've seen sets on there for $1500 for the 4 wheels alone (sold quickly), $2000 for the wheels alone (took a bit, but sold), and $3000 for wheels and tires (still posted).

The deals are out there. Where in Georgia are you? I know of a set in Jacksonville, FL that was just for sale for $1500, and if I hadn't already purchased my wheels and tires, would have jumped on them.

You can also find the TRD ones that are shown in a couple of messages above your post. I picked up a set for $600, but have seen them anywhere from $500 to $1000 for just the wheels.

That's what I was thinking, just wanted to get that cleared up before looking for a set of wheels to match my tires. I had those but in bronze on our Tacoma I sold two years ago, and really liked them. I already know what tires (I can get family discount from Goodyear - Cooper discoverer at3 xlt, don't know size I want yet)

I'm in north GA close to Dawsonville. I've never bought used wheels before. Any tips for what I should be on the lookout for when I start shopping around?

TRD Grille w/Rough Country LED, Tuffskinz products,
They're out there. Wish I could find some of the TRD Pro ones for that price. As far as looking at used, just make sure they're not scuffed up, should have stampings on the inside, with bolt pattern/offset, etc. There are a ton of threads here about what sizes work with what offsets, if you have a lift or not, etc. It took me 2 months to find wheels I wanted. I love the TRD ones, but ultimately found the Fuel Catalyst with the red barrels and instantly fell in love with them. These are a +1 offset, so they stick out more (poke) but I've got some RekGen mudflaps that will cover that once I get them installed.

Also be aware that the stock lug nuts will not fit with aftermarket wheels. The TRD and TRD Pro wheels use the same lug nuts, but since you're like me, and have the limited wheels, you've got the chrome lug nuts. If you buy a set of black TRD/Pro wheels, ask if they come with the lugs, as they're not cheap from Toyota, and the aftermarket ones that claim to be same as factory suck.

    Thanks!

Nice find! Those look good on there. Yeah, with the offset stuff that's a big reason I want to stick to OEM type wheels like the TRD ones. I keep going back to the Method wheels because so many people have them and it's easy to see how they'll look and if I;ll need spacers. It's not difficult, I just don't want to purchase some wheels and then be stuck trying to get rid of them because I don't like the look or they don't fit properly. I'm okay with a little poke, but I really like the clean/sleek look.

Ah good call on the lug nuts! Also wasn't aware about aftermarket ones not being good - not something I want to skimp out on.

Yep, I have the AVS rear setup. Just bought the Readylift from a guy on here for a really good deal. I'm looking for a good setup for the front. I like Bilstein, but can't find a good kit, so likely will pickup a stage 2 or 3 from Icon. Thanks for your help!

Sorry to hijack the thread :threadjacked: I'll let us get back at it :blahblah:

Anyone have pics of a TRD Sport with factory rims/bigger tires and a 1.75 RC lift?

Just an FYI to the thread. I found some wheels that I was very interested in, but they were Ram/Nissan bore size (77.8) if you’re willing to put spacers on, this company makes a bore adapter that you can purchase with any hub bore to wheel bore, and in 1, 2, or 3” spacers.

    https://venumwheel.com/products/6x5-5-wheel-adapters-hub-centric-hub-wheel-bore-conversions-only

I’ll accept the criticism, but I have a fatal attraction to snowflakes. Found a set on Facebook marketplace for a steal. They’re +20 offset, so with the 1” spacer/bore adapter, I’ll be around -5. Hopefully it won’t be too much poke. If it is, I’ll probably combat it with the RC fender flares. :spending:

Does anyone know if you can get the trd pro bbs wheels painted a different color or would that be a bad idea?
Or if bbs makes a similar sized wheel that is not black?

295/70/18 BFG T/A KO2. Fits great, looks awesome, no rubbing at all. Stock height, no lift. It looks like a real truck now instead of looking like it skipped leg day at the gym.

I would have preferred a 285/75/18 for a slightly taller skinnier tire as I like the "big tires but tucked" look, personally not a fan of poke. Unfortunately BFG does not make the KO2 in that size and I was dead-set on the KO2 because I really really love the look of that tire. I'll be installing a Cornfed 1" front level soon.

Thought I'd put these here in case anyone has been looking at them.

17" Icon Thrust Smoke Satin Black. My pictures aren't the best, and honestly NO pictures on the internet look as good as they do in person. I was a little iffy when I ordered them, but I couldn't be happier now that they are on the truck!

How's your MPH after going to that size tire? I was hoping to not see much of an increase but looks like I'm between 3-5 MPH faster than speedo with mine.
