Looks great, I am going to do the same with my Magnetic 1794, however I may go with a 295 series tire. How is the ride compared to stock, have you thought about adding a hub centric wheel spacer to bring them out a bit?

If I had to do it again I’d go with a 295/60 on the stock wheel. It is annoying that my mph is so off now. That said, the ride is great and for me, better than stock by far. I choose the 275 in the hopes of keeping things close to factory (like mph, mpg, ride etc). But, the 295s wouldn’t be any different as it turns out. I still love the truck though.

As for the spacers, I just came from a 6” lifted Chevy on 35/12.5 on a 20x10 +18 so I had no desire to have that much poke again. :)

From a tire size comparison calculation, if your originals were the same as mine (265/60/20), you'd be off 3.4mph @ 70mph. With the 295/65/20, you'd be off 5.6mph @ 70mph true speed.

I got the same size (275/65/20) in the Recon Grapplers, but my speed just seems to be off 2mph per two different GPS apps.

I didn’t know if I could really trust the apps I used. One said 10mph and I deleted the app. The other is 3-5 depending on speed. What app do you use?

Edit: What I meant by not much different was mph difference between 275/65 and 295/60. Not much difference there.

I just have a couple of basic GPS apps. They both just say GPS on the app name. Haven't really looked that closely at them.

Not really sure how accurate it is but my phone GPS shows 2-3 MPH faster than speedo.

You can use the Tire Size web page to compare. It shows the MPH diff between two tires.

I used the one over at tacomaworld but I like this one better. I was aware of the faster than reported speedo but before I had the new tires put on, factory was running slower than what was shown so it took me by surprise at just how off my speed was. I blame the app I was using.

This looks amazing. I'm currently finalizing my decision on a similar set up (Method 703's, still deciding on tires between Falken AT3W or Toyo AT3). Is this lifted or leveled at all?

    Thanks,

Completely stock SR5 with the TSS Off Road package. I went with LT275/65R20. Love the tires so far.

I have a 2024 Sequoia Limited (non-TRD) I purchased about a month ago. Have no plans to lift or level the truck since I tow our 21' Bay Boat regularly.

I'm thinking about Method 703 17" +35 wheels with either the classic 285/70r17 or 285/75r17, both in C load. Does anyone have a stock Tundra or Sequoia with either those sizes? The 285/75's are 4lb's lighter and a full inch larger diameter, would be great if they fit without any rubbing.

I had 285/70/17 +35 on my Tundra and had no rubbing problems.

Thanks! I will probably end up going this same way to save some money but would still like to see a 285/75 if anyone has them.

This thread has been super helpful in my decision making with tires and rims. Thank you everyone for posting and sharing!

    My setup:
    - Method +35 backspacing (Very little poke...which I prefer)
    - 285/75R17 BFG AT's Load range E
    - Stock Suspension - No lift at this time
    - 17 wheels cleared but be careful on where the wheel weights are mounted. I ordered this package online and had two wheel weights that interfered with the calipers on the front.

No rubbing at all. Did pin back the liner, but added Amazon mud flaps after the tire and wheel install. Have not had it offroad yet though

Note that in CO the slush/snow builds up in the wheelwell I do get some rubbing on the frozen ice buildup.

Have the Wescott lift in the garage and plan to install the preload collar and no top plate in the future

this is what I wanted to see, 285/75R17 with no lift or leveling.

    Looks great!

Apologies up front if these questions have been asked. I have the Rough Country leveling kit on mine and am looking at getting the biggest tire possible without rub, but I have been leaning towards 275/60/20. I'm just curious what that would be?

The second question is I have is that I am looking at the Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT, but was told they're being phased out for the Discoverer Road+Trail AT. Has anyone had any experience with them yet? They look like a good tire and am looking to get it done next week.

I have a 2022 with 1.75 RC leveling. I have just recently installed Cooper AT3 XLT in 275/65/20, so one size up in sidewall than what you are looking at. I have had the AT3 XLTs on my previous Tundra and was very happy with them. I got 78,000 miles out of a set and they were not very noisy and performed great on road and off road. They are obviously a bit harder ride than the OEM P-rated tires, but that is a given when you go to LT tires; nothing uncomfortable or annoying; just slightly noticeable on your first ride out of the tire shop, and then you get used to it.

I don't have any rubbing. I do have 1.75" wheel spacers though, but if anything, those almost cause rubbing on the outside scrub against the mud flaps.
From what I understand, the AT3 is not being replaced by the Road & Trail but the R&T is being added to the line-up, but I am not sure about that.

I do have to mention that I lost about 2MPG with the bigger, much heavier tires.

Thanks for the response! Yeah, it seems like we have very similar set ups then. The place I went to had told me the AT3s were being, "phased out" which could just mean he was trying to push the new tire, who knows. I am going to call around to some other local places and get some more information. I definitely like the size and look on yours, so I think the 275s will be the likely size I go with.

I have seen others post 275/65/20 also with no lift or leveling, and no rub, but if you go with 275/60/20 you will be on the safe side, definitely no rub, and still look a bit better than the OEM size. I wanted to add a bit more sidewall, hence the 65.

Regarding the R&T replacing the AT3, I have heard both that it is being replaced and that it is just being added to the lineup. I honestly have no idea. The AT3 is so popular that I can't really see Cooper just do away with it and cause uncertainty with clients.

Stock 2024 Tundra 1794 4x4 with OEM 20x8" wheels (+60 offset) will I be able to run a 295/65/20 Michelin Defender Platinum tire prior to adding a RC 1.75" level??? Not opposed to running a wheel spacer to clear control arms if necessary. Thanks!

Yes you should be good without the level. You could do a test fit. 295/60/20 fit definitely. 65 will be close.

Thank you, yup I agree 295 60 20 should be good, but I want that extra height/sidewall height with the 65. I am thinking maybe just put the RC 1.75" level on which should then allow for that 65 to work, and I could also add a wheel spacer too if needed. What do you think?

I think you’d more than likely be fine without the level. If there was any rub it would be minimal and you could address it after. No need for wheels spacers.

I know there’s a lot of heat about going with big wheels on here, but this is exactly what I wanted. 24” snowflakes with 35x12.50. I have the RC 1.75” level and have the slightest rub on the felt behind the front wheels, but I removed the bracket and plan to zip tie the felt back. Wheels at +20 and I used a 1” hub bore adapter by Venum Wheels (very pleased with the product). All in all, sitting at -5.4 offset. The poke is a little much for me, but I plan to combat it with paint matched bushwacker fender flares. IMG_3733.jpg IMG_3731.jpg IMG_3734.jpg

I don't usually like big wheels, but those look great. It looks factory, but better.

Also, take a look at these flares. One problem I see with the bushwackers is RC specifically says they are not responsible for paint damage, and that you should expect rubbing.

Here's another option that attaches like the OEM flares. https://nytop.store/toyota-tundra-s...p/2022-current-toyota-tundra-fender-flare-kit

Oh awesome, thanks for the suggestion. I just measured and I’m sitting right around 2” out from the oem fender flare, so that would be pretty dang close to flush. IMG_3738.jpg
