I gambled and went the Vland route. I saw the price of a combo tail/headlight set and couldn't resist. Especially since after I watched the item the seller sent me an 8% off offer. They look good overall as far as quality goes, but my passenger side amber side marker light isn't working. I've contacted the seller on ebay and we'll see what happens next.

I do have a few questions though. There are 5 plugs coming off the headlight assembly and 5 coming off my OEM harness. One of the OEM plugs is for the leveling motor and it obviously doesn't line up, nor did i expect it too. But what is the 5th plug for on the headlight assembly? I thought I had read somewhere on the forum about how people fuse tap something to install them? When i plugged in everything prior to install all seemed good (minus the one amber side marker not working). The sequential turns work, the DLR's work and both high beam and low beams work as well. Am I missing something here that could be preventing that side marker light to not function correctly? If I alter the empty plug and tap it into the OEM turn signal harness I will be forfeiting my warranty.

The other question I have is that I was unaware that the side marker was just a light and not a turn signal. @Musicmasterd12, does your amber side marker light function as a turn signal, or is it just a running light?

As always, thanks in advance for all the help.

I also had that other plug left blank. These headlights are also for the sequoia so maybe they have that other connection?

That I can tell, nothing you did that should cause that side marker not to work.

The side marker light is just a light, does not function as turn signal. The inner portion of drls function as the turn signals

I just went and looked and I have an extra plug that is taped up. I guess I thought that was for the adjustable headlight motor for those lights equipped with it

I really appreciate the insight. After much internet browsing I did find that the empty plug is for the 18-21 sequoia. Which makes me assume that I do have a bad assembly in my hands. Tomorrow I'll be looking to contact the seller to process a return of maybe one assembly or refund the whole shabang and back to square one.

Let us know how the warranty/return/refund goes.

I've been looking at the same light combo from Headlight Depot.

Within 3 hours (on a Sunday no less) the eBay seller (v-auto), asked me to send them a pic of the barcode on the back of the faulty assembly. Once I did they responded again and said a new assembly would be shipped out asap. Stoked on the response time as well as their solution to resolve the problem quickly.

as a side note- Headlight Depot lights will require you to add a harness, or rewire your OEM harness. Vlands are plug and play. I'm all good with wiring but chose the Vlands due to simple and easy. I think I spent 30 or so minutes installing all four assembly's. Vlands warranty is only 2 years though.

Still no new shipping info sent. Seller has confirmed it will be sent. If the replacement headlight isn't sent within a week of the 30 day refund policy eBay offers I'll be sending these back. Don't really want to go through all that but, I know that silly little light will keep me most annoyed. Have already been scoping other options as I really don't want to go back to the stock tails or headlights. I'll keep ya'll posted next week when I'm still within my return window.

I went aftermarket Morimotos and in response to your question- While I really enjoy looking at what folks have done on here, the labor involved including color matching and costs had me jump on a refurbished XB LED sale that put them at $376 each. I wanted good lights to replace my clouded boxes and installed them after work in time to grill dinner. I figured and like using updated factory parts, especially junkyard, but aftermarket for the win for me.

Finally got the replacement headlight. Works as it should and now I have a second headlight (minus the amber running light) as a spare. Overall, I'm super satisfied with the lights and the customer service. Shipping took awhile longer than I would've liked because it was shipped directly from the Vland factory in china. It has completely changed the light output on my truck and as everybody else has said, totally brings the 2nd gen into the future with LED's all the way around. Also picked up rattle cans, of dupli-color MGM and clear coat Now I've got to get a painting day in to finish the trim panels. Happy Happy.

Glad you found a sweet set of morimotos! I really want those as I also kept looking for the cheapest way to upgrade lights. After much research I found that the combo I bought from eBay came with the trim panels and a sweet set of tails to boot. All for under $800. All I had to do was buy $30 worth of dupli-color paint and clear coat to color match the trim pieces. Hoping to get those done on my next day off. Now of course I see another eBay seller selling the same set for $100 cheaper. Oh well, money come, money go.

I can't seem to access the web for a link because I'm on my phone right now. Every time I click it, it redirects me to my app and there is no link within the app. Anyhow I'll send you one later. I'm a fan of saving items to the watchlist and waiting to see if the seller offers you a discount. They usually do...

Anyhow, @Shanet421, here's a screenshot of my eBay app. The sellers name is Vland –motor.

edit: after looking at the item description and photos, I'm not fully sure that it includes the trim panels. But you can find those on eBay for cheaper than the $100 price difference I paid for my kit. Maybe reach out to seller and ask the question?

Well after almost a week of mulling over how to get black climate knobs and a 4x4 knob, I'm just to cheap to throw over $200 bucks on parts just to get the black rings around the 4x4 knobs and fan motor. So talk me down from the ledge if y'all think I'm crazy. But I'm going to paint the rings and in turn, delete the ability to see the lights shine through on the icons/words that are specifically on those rings.

Are the tailgate and the rear bumper the only thing you needed to change? Or is that a gen 2.5 bed as well? I've read people say that the body lines on a gen 2 bed and a gen 2.5 don't match up but this actually looks fine. Makes me wonder if a gen 2 with a 2.5 tailgate could pull off a 2.5 camper shell.....

Since becoming an Amazon Vine member I have had lots of sets of lights to play with for my Tundra for free. One thing I have come across is a number of them had the wiring wrong. Basically the wires are reversed, either in the plug or inside the light. An LED will not work if the voltage polarity is wrong. If you ever find you need the spare light I would try reversing the wires in the plug and see if that solves the problem. Normally there's a clip of some sort inside the plug to release the pin from the plastic housing. Push the pin up while gently pulling on the wire and it'll come out.

Kind of hijacking this, but does anyone know what I did wrong here?

i installed this headlight filler and had it on for less than a week and the tabs broke

Huge bummer since it was $75 for the filler + paint job

Ya that’s strange they just broke while in place. I’ve had the same ones from 2013 on and off multiple times without issue.

I have the VLands on my 2010... They are awesome, but the orange corner light stays on (Running light) whenever the DRL bars are lit.. Anyone know if this is normal, and if so, has anyone figured out how to decouple these from the DRL circuit?

I gotta ask, is it me or are morimoto headlights not that bright? Has anyone replaced their stock morimoto bulbs with brighter ones?

Before I installed the VLAND/Form lighting headlights I installed sealight LEDs in the OEM housings. They were bright and did well for me, but the beam pattern for others was not great. I would always get flashed bc I was blinding others.

Now in all fairness, my truck does sit higher than stock, lol. But I still think switching out housings is the best way to go.
