Whipple feedback so far since he’s gotten some seat time. He’s enroute to snag the trailer. So far he’s noticed much more under the curve in the midrange with the whipple. Quieter at cruising speed and holds and pulls 6th easier. Pulling away from a light it’s very noticeable difference he said. More feedback to come.

Got some fuel-related arts and crafts done this morning, a little more work to do on the under side, but I'm really pleased with how it is turning out. Still waiting on injectors and new ptfe hoses, then I will be able to swap this out with my current hack job.

Dual 8AN feeds, 6AN return, 6 wire bulkhead terminals, 2 for sending unit, 2 for each pump power and ground.

Got the fuel tank all back together, and the TRD/maggy intake installed. Drove around for a bit and nothing broke. Just gotta schedule in the MAF tune with OTT now. Then a dyno tune hopefully in the next month or two

Not sure but concept is the same. No doubt roots Eaton rotor packs have come a long way.

That is indeed a 2006 article. Twin screw manufacturers still be resting on their 20 year old laurels. I tried looking in the past but couldn’t find the compressor map for a 2.9 gen4 Whipple. I’ve only seen it stated by an internet rando that peak efficiency is 65% at 8000 rpm and 1.9 PR (13.2 psi boost) on the 2.9. The TVS2650 has a fairly large pocket of 70% efficiency looking at the readily available compressor map.

Yeah will be exciting to see them start rolling out. The initial release stated it would be available quarter 2 of 23’.

Careful with that MAF product. I've not heard good things about them.

Edit for clarity: Not that they screw anything up but they are prone to fail / low reliability.

I think Eaton's TVS first run was released that year or shortly after on Corvettes and Caddys.

The adiabatic map was the first thing I looked for to make a fair comparison. What I did find is some complaints about the lack of that information. Probably blocked by an NDA on behalf of the Lysholm patent holder. TVS vs Twin Screws seemed to be a hot topic on one of the Mustang forums. Same folks recommend getting a Whipple over turbos.

TVS approach looks like a hybrid workaround twin screw licensing. Rotor coatings, lobe counts, twist rates brought the two technologies a lot closer. Looks like there is even a 5 lobe released or soon to be released. Despite this the Lysholm is a true compressor where the TVS builds manifold pressure by other means.

Edit. It is still an interesting article that helps understand what introduces inefficiencies in superchargers. Thanks for sharing @reywcms

My 21 Magnuson install was 10k with 1k of tax in 2022 at a dealer that does alot of supercharger installs. They even had it in stock. No issues for 12k miles or so, except for one CEL when going 70mph in 10 degrees F, cleared it and nothing since and similar temperatures.

I bought it for my Tundra in 2019, it threw codes, so has maybe 100 miles on it. I figured I'd try it & if there are issues it will go back in the box

    Thanks

Reuse the OEM one. No sense injecting another variable in the build.

What gap are people using? The Magnuson instructions say .32 but the plugs I got are at .42
