Got my radio knob replaced ab 10 days ago. Took the dealership about 3 weeks to get the part. Apparently on National back order now.
when I took mine in back in May, the service rep had not heard of the issue before. Three weeks later, he said he’s heard that 4 more came in with the same problem and acknowledged there must be an issue.
And thanks Roborob70 for the suggestion to use vice grips. I was gonna try it but the chrome grips just clashed with my red and black interior.

The knob is a delicate flower give a gentle twist but the steering wheel controls
is the best way to avoid damaging it.

2024 Platinum with less than 2k miles....knob fell off in my hand yesterday. Does not inspire confidence that this well known and well documented design flaw has not been fixed.

My 2024 platinum just broke today same deal left work went to rooms to go and came back out noticed it was cockeyed then went to turn it and came off it was first time driven truck in 2 weeks. Joy, called dealer service person said on national back order maybe end of the month, but not first one they seen. Truck only has 5300 miles. Waiting to see if voodoo blue or some other light blue is offered and trail hunter model in 2025, if so will trade it in, if not may just sell it till they release a Trailhunter version or plugin hybrid version lol.

nothing has fallen off my 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser with 110k miles.

Mine just broke today! I just bumped it and it fell off. So I turned into the dealership while on another errand. My service rep said it is a known issue and I told him it's well known on the forum too. So he ordered a new part. Then 5 minutes later, after checking the computer for the original part number, he informed me there is a new part number on this knob and it has been modified. It will be here next week. I will be curious to see what the modification is on the back of the knob.

I was thinking about doing that yesterday. Too late, lol. I wonder if mixing bits of TP with super glue and pencil lead dust and applying it around the affected part; it solidifies into a carbon bond. I also read here an empty .45 brass casing cut off the end would also fit too.
