Can you point me to the tech tip article and hardware kit? I'm about to schedule my 1 yr service and would like to have the skid plate creak addressed on my Pro. It just started about a month ago, but becoming more notiiceable. Annoying.

Yes, that is the same one I used last year to fix my noisy skid plate.. I must have done something wrong, since the creak came back.. I ended up installing nylon washers which fixed it for a while.. Its still an issue for my truck (2020). I am curious about using the plate as a "lifting point"..

I think a "kit" was mentioned. Did they install any different hardware or just set factory fasteners to spec?

while in carplay or android auto when nav starts talking turn volume down then any other time it adjusts the audio volume. you have to lower it while it is speaking. like that on any veh its way it works not veh specific.

looks great! the power loss is do to the e rated tires they are much heavier the diameter of the tire is only 1" difference. . something that is making me lean to stock size tires just switching to all terrain.
if the noise comes back you only need rubber washers or spacers between frame and skidplate no need for new hardware kit.

12K mile update: Love the truck, glad I bought it when I did...these new prices are crazy and honestly not worth it just for added cameras/tech.

    * Dome light rattle, dealer was able to fix
    * Storage under the seat - this is my #1 complaint. Even adding the ESP storage, it only gives you 4". I don't think it's worth it.
    * Front fog lights rattle all over the place...you can literally see the light bouncing. I've read about the zip tie fix...haven't done it yet though.
    * Driver side headrest rattles sometimes...feels like that seat in general just makes noise. Not as quiet as the Tacoma. Dealer hasn't been able to find the exact spot making the noise.
    * Front grill isn't even as the right and left gaps are compared... also read this is a larger issue impacting many Tundras, but a simple fix where it just has to be adjusted.
    * Averaging about 12MPG... took quite a while for the truck to get to that point. Initially it was ~10MPG.

All in all... love the Tundra. Only two big gripes are the squeaks from the cab sometimes and the storage under the rear seat. Not convinced to add the ESP for only 4".... we'll see.

Would love to add the Warn semi-hidden bumper and winch, looks great on the truck but worry about the added weight and any drop in height. I moded out my Tacoma so much, the thing was a slug in the end.

The zip tie fix is kind of a pain in the ass. You have to open up the inner fender liners. Get yourself the clear Rigid fog light covers, snap them on and you're done. 5 seconds per light.

Zip tie fix for the fog lamps takes literally less than 5 minutes I did it the day I brought my truck home. I just hit 7500 miles on mine and I have a zero rattles or anything maybe yours was built on a Friday lol. I'm averaging 15.5 mi per gallon when unloaded when I'm towing obviously it's a lot different

this stops the shaking? I thought it was a lazy mounting solution by Toyota that caused them to shake, how does the fog light cover stop that?

Yeah, because it's a very tight fit between the light and housing.

Also, I originally had amber, looked cool, but reduced output. I went to clear.
If buy them, note in the description if you're getting one or two. Mine weren't sold as a pair.

    30K Update
Took her into dealer two months before the 36 month warranty was up.

    * Fog light rattle. Dealer fixed with 3M tape or something similar. So far so good.
    * Figured out most of the cabin noise/rattle is from the front passenger seat hitting the center console. If you place your hand between the two it stops. Dealer says it's just like this...going to escalate to Toyota. Feels unacceptable.
    * Rubber gasket around gas fill is torn. Dealer is going to goodwill replace it.
    * Side step cover on driver side cracked and is coming up from tube. Dealer is going to goodwill and replace.
    * Cowl under front windshield has discolored. I only do touchless washes on the truck with McGuire's gold.... should not have done this. Dealer won't replace. We'll see what Toyota says.

    - Added the under seat storage. It's pretty shallow, but lets you put in a bag of tools and some ties and stuff.
    - Tires are wearing fantastic. Glad I went with the BFGs
    - Still averaging 12mpg. Going to do a cleaning on the throttle body..maybe that will make a difference. I maxed the tire pressure and the MPG didn't change.
    - Bought the auto window down buttons for all windows. Still need to install them.
    - Upgraded all the interior lights to led. The top dome light still rattles sometimes.... need to figure out what the issue it. Did it with the stock light and with the new led one too.

Mabye...maybe when my tires wear I'll go a size bigger along with the Westcott kit.

One regret...around this time last year they had the Warn semi winch bumper for like $650. Should have scooped it up then...it's back up to $900.

Your tires threw a rock that smashed your own windshield?

Seems unlikely, right? But the Michelins do throw rocks. Sometimes, they are thrown forward in front of the truck, and they bounce up off the ground, and you run into it with the truck at 70mph or whatever. I'm sure it's exceedingly rare that someone chips their own windshield this way, but I don't think it's impossible.

Edit: just realized I posted the same thing about 3 years ago on this same thread:

I have the factory Michelin all season tires. I didn’t know tire rock throwing was a thing. Every so often I’ll hear a loud noise like I ran over something and it hit my side steps even when the road looked clear. Guess it must have been rocks
