Is draining/refilling automatic transmission fluid important?

    I'm at 291k on my '05 DC and I'm positive nothing has been done to my trans fluid. I ask about trans fluid every time I have it in for major service interval and keep getting the same "we checked the trans fluid and it looks fine...probably because you don't tow much" response. I still somewhat wonder if the dealer just doesn't want to deal with it - the reward isn't worth the risk perhaps. Dunno but I'll ask again next time I take it in....and probably get the same response.

    I did a drain and fill of the pan at 230k. So far no issues.

    I’ll do it again and again every 10k miles or so.

    That’s the plan anyways
