I am wiring up and testing out my equipment that I got from James (Kenwood DNX996XR, Maestro RR, T02 harness, sT02 adapter, uT02 adapter) to my 2018 Limited with JBL.
I have 3 questions I hope you all can help out with. I'm tagging @james@tech12volts in case he happens to be available, but I know family time takes prority and he's busy with the move so I figured maybe someone else here knows...

    1) What is this wire/connector for? I know the white one is for the GPS antenna.

    IMG_0376.jpg

    2) Is there a way to have the factory AUX input work? I have the uT02 adapter for the USB connection, but wasn't sure how to get the AUX input wired up.

    IMG_0378.jpg

    3) Is there any way to get the factory microphone wired up? I don't mind tapping/splicing wires but I haven't found much info for this. If I can use the factory mic and rewire it to a 1/8" jack to plug into the kenwood headunit, then I would like to try that instead.

I have the DNX996XR as well. You will love it. There is a new firmware update for it that's easy to do and makes Carplay work even better.

There are two black connectors I think. One is the factory USB and the other is Sat radio antenna. I think in your hand is the USB because the sat should be a single wire and not a bundle.

For the GPS ST02 kit you need to use the green/grey one for Kenwood. Green/green is Pioneer. The sat radio antenna adapter you will need a tuner if you want to keep Sat radio.

For the UT02 adapter, depending on your phone model is what USB you want on the back of the unit itself. Black is Apple and Grey is Android.

Did you get a factory radio antenna adapter by Metra? You won't need the blue wire from it as the factory antenna isn't amped.

I don't think you will be able to use the AUX after taking out factory radio. I searched for an adapter and even to make it a dual USB adapter to no avail. I ended up changing out a 12V socket to dual USB just to charge multiple phones.

You can't use the factory bluetooth anymore either. You have to use the supplied antenna. It's easy to remove the overhead console, and I changed out the factory Mic with the Kenwood mic after a little trimimng and some double sided tape and kept it in the stock location for a clean look. The wire is long enough to run down drover's A-pillar under dash behind steering wheel and into radio from there. I did not use the ODBII connector.

The videos below were lifesavers. I soldered my connections, but did not take the wiring harness apart like these guys did. I did use the tesa tape they used for the harness.

    1) I tried the white connector and it didn’t work as a gps antenna. One is a gps antenna the other is for sat radio.

    2) I have same adaptor. Only works for usb.

    3) not that I have found.

Also just use the supplied gps antenna. I think it works better.

    Thanks @captainnemojr and @BlueBottle !
    So from what I've gathered...
#1 - that black connector is for the Satellite radio, which sounds like I would need a tuner if I wanted to use that (which I don't)
#2 - (Updated) The factory AUX input goes through the harnesses and comes out of the T02 harness in the form of the 'Aux input' RCA connectors (red, white, yellow) and you can connect it to the AV-In jack on the kenwood using this: https://www.amazon.com/Kenwood-CA-C3AV-Cable-Video-Input/dp/B001LRPLQ4/
#3 - sounds like there is a way to use the factory microphone, but it requires disconnecting the amplifier that is attached to the factory mic, and rewiring the mic wires to bypass the amp. I'll get around to that eventually, but for now I'll use the microphone that came with the kenwood. (For details, see here: https://www.tundratalk.net/forums/t...cussion/118605-adding-aftermarket-stereo.html )

I've finished my install and everything is working well so far! I'll try the firmware update too.

You that usb input port should work. I don’t use the aux input so I never bothered researching.

Wow nice find on using the oem mic. But it looks like more trouble than just squeezing the Kenwood mic in there lol.

Note - I updated post # 127 with this info on the Factory AUX input:

The factory AUX input goes through the harnesses and comes out of the T02 harness in the form of the 'Aux input' RCA connectors (red, white, yellow) and you can connect it to the AV-In jack on the kenwood using this: https://www.amazon.com/Kenwood-CA-C3AV-Cable-Video-Input/dp/B001LRPLQ4/
I tested this out and confirmed it works.

Only audio (red & white) goes through, the video does not.

Make sure you’re using the right RCA plugs for the amp

I am planning on getting a pioneer head unit. Will any of the pioneer NEX models support toyota factory functions such as door locks and lighting? What should I look for as far as which one will work? Also on a 2020 double cab SR model, how do I know if I have a factory amp or not (want to get the proper wire harness). Thanks in advance.

@BlueBottle i recently installed a kenwood HU with the idatalink maestro RR. I don’t get any tire pressure data on that screen. I thought maybe my tundra was too old (2017) and didn’t have the required TPMS to report actual data. But then I looked at your pics above and saw that you’re reporting pressures and yours is a 2016. Any ideas?

Well I got it all working. Just reset the maestro module. Came back up with tire pressures. Woohoo.
