You must not live in snow/ice/mud country, do ya? 2WD drivers I know are always late for dinner because they have to walk home.IMG_5854.jpg

Yes sir, we eat them raw and I smoke them til they pop. That’s literally the only reason I kept my Weber charcoal kettle. Oysters are not going in my ceramics. Got my hand smacked before here for posting my back window of my truck. Hence the angle of the first pic and this one. IMG_0879.jpg

missed the type S question. We really like it, It’s the wife’s semi daily driver. I hardly ever drive it and it doesn’t leave the garage unless it’s sunny and dry. I did put over 2000 miles on it over the summer, Drove it to Florida and back. Nice car, quick enough for the wife. Next ride is my Supra. IMG_0208.jpg IMG_5624.jpg

Bring a 4WD to Idaho in winter, we don't want you to be late for dinner.

I'm literally just going to be using it for hauling/pulling stuff. Not really stumps out of the ground like @shifty` says...although my truck is a lot less pretty on the outside paint job than his is; I probably SHOULD use & abuse it for the rougher stuff. My couple of acres doesn't even have one tree on it, thank god

By the time I've gotten a fair bit of use out of it I'll probably have enough saved up to buy ANOTHER Tundra, this time a 2017/18 which'll have about the same amount of miles on it (used, ofc. I'm too poor for a huge-ass monthly car payment)

The gradual transmission fluid replacement method in my 2000 Tundra that I started the thread about, though...it seems to be going well (drain, replace with exact amount drained, drive 1,000 miles, repeat 4 or 5 times until I can safely assume all the tranny fluid has been replaced)

It seems to be going okay, but after just going out there with a white paper towel and checking the fluid...it's ABOVE the "hot" line on the dipstick? Is this alright? I SWEAR I only put in the EXACT amount that I drained; how is it so full?

I've read horror stories (on this and other forums) about TOO much tranny fluid in the truck being an issue, but wouldn't this...more or less help me in my aims to replace the tranny fluid gradually? I mean the more newer fluid there is, the more it can get in there and coax the older stuff out, right?

You don’t add exactly what you took out. You add enough for the dipstick reading to be within spec. Doesn’t matter how much came out, only how much is in there.

So since I just put the new stuff in, I should...drain it until it gets down to the recommended level on the dipstick?

And yes, you should check the fluid when it’s warm. Shift it through all the gears and then put it in park and leave it running. Check the dipstick then.
