Just got a new knife. Named it “Drunk Midget” on account of the blade only being approximately couple of inches long and having a bottle opener.

    Pretty apt name I think.....

Thanks man, wasn’t too sure about it at first, but grew on me pretty fast! Seems to be holding up really well so far!

Bottle opener takes a couple times to get it, but that’s my only complaint!

I ordered a custom Benchmade Griptillian for my Dad for Fathers Day.... got his name laser etched in both sides of the blade. I don’t have a pic of it ( he lives on the opposite coast, and he is technically challenged ) but he called me and was thrilled.

Good to hear. I ordered a custom knife from Benchmade a while back, and it didn’t turn out very well.

Sorry to hear that... did they make it right? I have 20+ Benchmade knives (none of them custom) but they are high quality. I’ve been to the factory and the people I talked to there take a lot of pride in their products. I really hope they did right by you.

Yes they did. They refunded my money, and took it back. Main issue was the color of the handle was way off from what the web site showed. The blade was also off center to the point it was rubbing on one side. The tip had a pretty bad burr in it also.
I also own a few other Benchmade products, and have been nothing but happy with them. The Bedlam and Bugout are the top two in my rotation. I was surprised at the issues my custom knife had. I expected that those would go through more rigorous QC than the ones going through the mass production line. It was just an isolated incident, which they made right immediately. I’m still a big fan of the brand.

You can't go wrong with ESEE...5 or 6. The 5 is 1/4" thick...nice and heavy. Either way, the blades are really nice and hold a good edge.
Here's mine, along with the little Izula.
Sorry the last photo's a bit blurry...

Nice. I like the sheaths even more than the knives in the first post. Very tactical

    Thanks man.
I didn't really think it was all that great, but simple is sometimes the best. A little tape in a Kryptek-style/ web design, and a few rattle cans of flat camos. The original color of OD on the sheath, and coyote on the kydex made is easy.

So my boys bought me a knife kit from knifekits.com. super nice Damascus fixed blade and desert iron wood.

I don't have the tools or expertise to make the scales. Does anyone have a custom knife maker that could finish the kit for me?

It's a little late but I received my late birthday gift a couple of weeks ago from my Dad. 44 Damascus knives!!! 2 other knives and 1 was missing from the box. That would have been 47 Knives:eek2: Here they are.

My father really got into Knives in his old age. When I told him I always liked knives I opened a can of worms. From my birthday last year and Christmas and my birthday this past July my father has gotten me well over 100+ Knives. He finally found Damascus Knives and I think he went a little overboard. I just told him to do whatever he wants with the rest of his days. He is definitely doing it.

The new Benchmade 737 Aileron. Not too big, not too small. Super smooth action, great grip and nice balance.
