I mean the AFE or Westcott arms. I have the AFE arms installed.

Im getting ready to order an ICON full setup. Wanting to go with the CDEV solution as I will still be able to electronically control the dampening. Big investment so need to get this right. I believe I am only going to need the ICON Setup and continue to use my Westcott rear arms and I should be fine. The ICON kit comes with a diff drop kit but I could go with the TRD CV's if I want. Anything else I am missing here. Dont think so... I have looked at your build multiple times. I think Ive got it down.

I'm not familiar with the ICON set up. I'll have to check it out.

Those parts are the shock mounts from an SR5. The TRD lift is not meant for trucks with AVS and/or rear airbags. I can't remember which way it went but one or other other combinations were keyed. The TRD shock wouldn't fit in the AVS shock mount. It needs parts from a lower trim level.

Makes a lot of sense. I was thinking along those lines. Wanted to be sure. Thanks! Making my order this week. Pretty stoked to see how this build comes out and share my experience with the group.

Spoke to ICON last week. They are in the final stages of verifying fitment of their kits with the AVS & Air Ride vehicles. They mentioned their last step is pertaining to the rear air ride height adjustment brackets, etc. Hopefully something soon that is fully validated and ready to ship!

New to this site but I’ve studied this thread pretty thoroughly. I want to do a simple RC leveling kit on my 1794 with the AVS/rear air bags. I’ve read a couple of time there is special shims that are required. I notice the RC site still says that the leveling pucks aren’t compatible with AVS but I’ve heard of a number of people that say they are. Is there a final consensus on the compatibility of the RC puck leveling kit on AVS equipped tundras?

I have been rounds with several of the companies, including RC and AFE. None of them have tested it on the AVS so they aren't willing to take the liability. My issue was that even though several people here have used them both on the AVS, no one in my area will install them for me if the manufacturer says it doesn't fit. That leaves us with using either Westcott leveling pucks (or with the rear arm) or Deadlift 2" lift. Personally I'm going with the readylift because I like how they raise the bags versus just pumping more air into them to lift the back.

not really sure why you want a leveling kit anyway, the AVS bagged trucks are pretty much level from the factory, ride awesome, etc.

this is stock suspension, if the front was raised at all it would be higher than the rear

That looks great! What tires did you go with?
I’m not looking to get much higher than stock. I’d like to be able to fit 275/65/20 BFgoodrich AT on it and don’t want them to look too cramped. Definitely don’t want the squat look!

Not if you adjust the stock rear arms all the way then it would be level with a leveling kit.

you don't need them all the way, the pic you see is after the TSB and near the top of the spec at 40-42 mm, spec is 35-45mm.

its level as you see it

Interesting. I have mine all the way and there is a definite rake, in that a 1.75" leveling kit would make it sit level.

Yeah, cause if at spec or slightly above it bottoms out on the bump stops, unless I read the tab wrong. I read it as 35-45mm space between the bump stops and the frame.

I noticed this as well. When I first got my truck the back was lower then it should have been, like many on here. I raised it up to within spec and where rear is 1/2" higher then front, but it still bottomed out some and was harsh when doing so. I wanted to keep the truck level without lifting the front for now so I installed the Icon rear bump stop kit. Now it still hits the bump stops on large bumps but is much softer and smoother when doing so. I did also add 1/2" to the Icon setup to match factory engagement point.

As someone previously mentioned. These trucks are relatively low to the ground compared to the previous generation as well as their competitors. I’m not looking to make it into a monster truck but would appreciate a couple more inches of height. Ideally I’d like to fit 275/65/20 AT tires on it without looking too crowded. If someone has a picture of that on stock suspension I would love to see it. I’m leaning towards a RC kit in the front then possibly adding afe arms to keep a rake if raising my stock air bag arms doesn’t get it high enough.
Does adding a RC 1.75 to the front on a 1794 hybrid with AVS require any special shimming or extra parts? I assume the strut mount is the same just the strut itself has a wire coming out of it. Thanks for all the help. This is an awesome community!

So the simple spacers like the one me from rough country will fit an AVS strut and strut mount without any modifications?!

I don’t see why not. You will still have to mess with getting the electronic connector apart but not nearly the mess I dealt with to get the spring and collar off.

so will westcott. I have westcott on my platinum with AVS & Rear Air Ride - no modification were necessary.

What are people's thoughts on the rear arms from Westcott and afe, specifically, over inflation of the bags?

Same question on the front leveling kits or Westcott preload collar, specifically, doesn't this put undue stress on the shocks? Readylift comes with rear shock extenders, but I haven't seen any that come with the front.
