Oddly enough, there are limiteds with cloth interior. And that is an SR5.

My limited says it came from the factory with cloth captains chairs, but there's zero evidence it didn't actually come with leather. I checked the doors, there's zero evidence the door inserts were ever popped for a port. I think Toyota's info is a bit off on stuff, b/c I'm not the only one ...

I think Limited trim does not come standard with leather, so the VIN reports are always gonna list the standard equipment. Most I've seen did have the factory leather in them.

I think I found a double cab and am having the dealership do an inspection before I drive over for the final in-person inspection. So my truck might be listed for sale soon...

I’m not sure @southof37 was that interested, but wanted to mention it again.
First the truck I found has to check out. It’s a small lot owner and he just told me he won’t let the dealership do a pre purchase inspection cuz he does trust them. And he says he’s a mechanic. Bit of a red flag so we’ll see how things pan out.

Definitely a red flag if he won't let an inspection fly... that's a sure fire way to lose my business. If someone basically says "Trust me and only me," I'll make sure to explain why they will never get a cent of my money.

Ya, I'm not sure if he doesn't trust that dealership, or if he's trying to hide something. Funny enough, I mentioned to my wife that the seller doesn't trust the dealership and my wife pointed out, "that kind of sounds like you." Haha

I saw that too. With it being stock it could have been grandpas truck? But New Mexico and Co owners I would bet the frame is in good shape.

@OP. Buy that high dollar BAT truck, or get a beater & build it how you want it.

its not like hunting down a rare option savoy or matching pair of honda motocompo's, its a camry with a bed. But you can go type-r or platinum better with new parts. (Sorry, lost track at page 2, dunno the history or outcome).

or maybe it is, how cool would it be to find the 69420 truck.

05-06 trucks dont have dipsticks? If I were to buy one again , id get 05/06 just for trans and power. Messaging back and forth with Shifty , they made a lot of nice creature confort changes compared to older first gens. I do love my 2002 though. Technically built summer 01. I like the older styling and its easy to work on. I would love the extra power and upgraded trans. Honestly all tundra's should be capped at 200hp with their horrid brakes ...

My truck i bought, was a one owner, old man, carfax showed every single thing he did as well as receipts he had in glove box. He drove about 5,000-8,000'ish miles a year around home apparently. He had the tires replaced back with OEM, lots of service records, timing belt done at 100,000, he drove it pretty regular (low mileage though) as seen by service records. Eventually he must have fallen ill and quit driving. When i found it, it was green from slime being parked in a driveway i suspect in a rainy area. It had 144,000 miles and the previous service done about 4,000 miles prior over 3 years before i bought it. After i got the title i google'd the guys name and sure enough there was an obituary 3 years prior for him. So when i got it, it hadnt been moved in 3 years and was green.
I had it towed home so i could go thru all fluids ect before running it, steam cleaned it, buffed the chalky white exterior back to a shine with some buffing compound, cleaned and detailed it and changed fluids and i have been driving the wheels off it. I absolutely love the truck.

Side note: My truck has the original paint and only had 3 rock chips on the hood, not a single dent in the whole truck, still has the factory Toyota windshield that didnt have a single rock chip in it when i bought it. It was an absolutely pristine pony, a find that doesnt happen often. I saw one a few years back at a dealership, it was like 75,000 miles, white limited double cab completely stock just like mine was and they were asking like $26,000 grand for it.

Considering a fly-n-buy on a truck in Nevada. All the major things were done (t-belt, h2o pump, starter, shocks, struts and probably more that I have forgotten). it’s not perfect but does tick a lot of the boxes. Has a nice color matched topper too. He sent me a video of underneath to verify it had no rust but I was wondering if anyone could tell where this oil leak might originate. I saved a couple still shots and it looks to be somewhere between the transmission and transfer case, perhaps. I’d love some insight from all you seasoned 4.7ers.

That's pretty far back, note the front driveshaft on the right and rear on the left, respectively. I'd really need to see pics higher up, to try and find an origin. Fluid travels down with gravity. I'm a bit confused by the "peak" where the fluid follows that one ridge casting, basically where the rubber wire loom goes out-of-frame.

Seems like he conveniently zips by that area.

It looks like it's a fluid leak near the top of where the transfer case and transmission meet?

At least on the 1st pic here. 2nd pic almost looks like the trans pan is leaking, and trans fluid is wicking up?

    Frame looks pretty solid.
