did you get the 3/1 westcott installed? I was debating I have the same truck as you. Thoughts/review on it? I know it’s only been a couple weeks but thought I’d ask

Reasonably ok ride around town. Meh off-road and over speed bumps. This is just a stop gap until buying a real suspension kit or if you want all show and no go.

I thought I was the only one that hated this kit. I too, did the Westcott kit as I waited for real suspension options. I can't recommend the Westcott kit as it rides like dog shit. Off road or over speed bumps the rebound up front feels like a pogo stick but with less control.

So got my Westcott kit installed and had some issues and still have issues... My 3/1 lift was installed and then I went to Toyota and they couldn't get the alignment right. The ride quality was actually nice, and felt the same as when I had no lift right after the install, but then after the first alignment from Toyota the ride quality felt very rough above 50mph. Come to find out my off-road shop that did the install left a rubber piece on the bottom of the coil spring and I had to go back today to get it removed and then go back to Toyota for another alignment . Well, again, Toyota could not align my truck and the ride quality is even worse. The tires are humming like crazy and the ride quality is suffering. So, now I have an app for a proper alignment next week at an offroad shop that assures me they can align my truck to the Westcott specs. My local Toyota dealership told me they could do the alignment and that they align lifted trucks all the time, but during my second visit I gave the techs the Westcott specs and they even watched the YouTube video Westcott has and they told me they can't change the alignment specs on their hunter alignment machine and I would have to go somewhere else. They were very apologetic and refunded my $120 for the alignment but I wasted 2 trips there. The truck looks great, but hopefully after this next alignment it will sooth out the ride quality. Picture of the rubber piece that is not supposed to be left behind, and the before and after alignment specs that Toyota screwed up. Westcott recommended alignment specs is the last pic. I'll update after the alignment is corrected and let you all know if ride quality has improved.

just installed mine on Friday and i’m having a similar issue. Initially went to firestone and they didnt have the “23 update” so they sent me to the dealership. The dealer performed an alignment that looks pretty similar to yours and the ride is pretty good most of the time but going over bumps it’s rough. A two inch drop pulling out of the driveway feels like rolling off a curb. The toyota techs spent over 3 hours trying to get the caster in spec with no luck.
I have a friend with the same truck with a westcott lift that has been properly aligned and he’s satisfied with the ride. I’m reserving final judgement until i can get it properly aligned.

I'm still amazed that there is so much info about spacers being crap. But, when you throw a "name brand" on them, people start thinking they are something better.
Spacer lifts suck. You get poor ride quality, accelerated wear and component failure, and you get to waste your money running around trying to figure out why they aren't good.

Westcott, Rough Country, or a part made by "Joe Bob's Donks", spacers suck and are a waste of money and time.

I talked to westcott and a few other guys who got proper alignments. Where ever you go they need to match the westcott specs and not try to align it to factory specs.

What are the westcott specs? They dont include any alignment specs in the packaging and the marketing material says
“ still able to align the vehicle to factory specs after install”, they even show the alignment printout for the factory specs in the product phots on the website. If there’s a difference between what they advertise and what their lift can acheive practically, that’s fine, i’d just like to know what the actual specs are.

Let's make a new thread called "Dumbasses trying to get away without a real suspension lift" maybe that will make all the haters feel better lol. Just some humor...

the westcott specs are what they have on their website and my second picture of alignments in my post, the first alignment picture I have is of the factory alignment specs from Toyota, if you look at the caster/camber thresholds on toyotas sheet they are very different from westcotts. The Westcott alignment page shows "Modified" in parentheses meaning they have modified the alignment specs, which any alignment shop you go to has to do the same. I could be wrong, but I believe you can only align back to Toyota factory specs if you upgrade the upper control arms to get more caster back.

So I finally got a corrected alignment and wow it really made a big difference in the ride quality! Overall I would recommend the westcott 3/1 lift to anyone who wants to lift their tundra on a budget. I will say that it is very alignment sensitive, but once it's dialed in to westcotts's specs you're good to go. If I were to rate my ride quality/comfort level I would start with the stock ride quality at 10, and when I added the E rated 295/65/20 (35.4 inch) Mickey Thompson baja legend exp tires that are hybrid tires (not all terrain) my ride quality went down to a 8.5, a very noticeable difference but expected with how aggressive the tire tread is. After the westcott 3/1 lift and proper alignment my ride quality has not changed. I have noticed the stiffer spring compression when I go over speed bumps or pot holes but it's really no biggie. When I didn't have the correct alignment I'd say my ride quality was a 6, I could really fell a big difference when driving over 50mph everything felt bumpy and my steering wheel had alot of rough feedback. Seems like the lift settled about 1/4 inch from when it was installed as well. I'm very happy with the lift now but was unhappy when the alignment was off, so just make sure you get the alignment right where every to take it. I would definitely recommend all terrain tires with less aggressive tread and not E rated if you want the most comfortable ride quality. I spent a total of $1000 on the black anodized kit, installation, and alignment. Well worth it for me.

    Lots of stuff!
My longer term plans are to go with a coil over lift without spacers. In the meantime, I have an RC 1.75" levelling kit up front and a 1" Westcott on it's way for the rear.

The TRD lift looks nice but up here we are looking at about $10k for this installed. I am also waiting to see what comes as kits are becoming more available.
