They started fogging in less than a year...getting my new set directly from Morimoto under warranty. They have been wonderful to work with.

Morimoto assured me that fogging is not a big issue with their product, and if I have any other issues, just to contact them.

Did you originally purchase them through Morimoto?

No...i got them from Headlight Revolution...but unfortunately, i have found that dealing directly with Morimoto was a lot easier in my case...the team at morimoto were really good to work with...they were professional, and answered all my questions and replied to all my emails...

I just noticed mine had some water ingress around 2 weeks ago. I contacted Headlight Revolution via email with pictures and Mike @ HR was great to deal with. I'm currently awaiting my replacement set under warranty. It's a shame, it was only a couple days from exactly 1 year that I ordered them. Hope the new set can hold up, otherwise I might be in that same boat with you Zk...

I can't wait to get them back on the truck, it looks so weird with the factory halogens on it now. Amazing what headlights can do to update these 2nd Gens.

You guys are making me think twice about getting these. I figured for the price they wouldn't ever have this issue

Before I installed my Morimoto XB's I used black silicone and sealed the seam, just for peace of mind.
It is coming up on a year from install and I see no issues.
Of course I have the reverse leveling feature that was going to be corrected. Have not heard anything about it though.

Don't get too spun up. Morimoto acknowledged that there was a manufacturing problem with an early batch of headlights. I think we're still seeing some from that batch that still out in the wild. Mine will be a year old in May and are bone dry inside.

Agreed on this, mine were an early batch and honestly, they've stood behind their product 110% so far, no reason why that wouldn't change? You could theoretically buy a pair of Sequoia headlights and have them leak within a year and have zero warranty, Morimoto offers 5 years on these.

I'm probably going to purchase through headlight revolution as they're a little cheaper than directly through morimoto. They are currently on back order until the end of the month, but the amber DRL will be available a few weeks later through HR so I'm not sure which color to go with

Dont get me wrong...Headlight Revolution gave me a great price...but they are soo busy that i didnt get a response until 2-3 days later..when i had a question or issues.

Morimoto contacted me within a day...and they always answer their phone...it was no bs with them...really positive experience

Like what @radon222 said above, these leaking issues are almost certainly a Gen.1 set of headlight housings. Morimoto identified the issue early on and resolved the issue after opening an investigation case looking into the issue with the seal. They have long since resolved the seal issue & have stated that they are very confident that this will never be an issue someone will need to mess with in the future moving forward with the Gen.2 models! :) I should note too, the amount of failed Gen.1 housings with the leak issue was limited to a batch, not the full-production of Gen.1 units! I always say this, but the 5-Year warranty is there for these instances to have your back! Any issues at all (And I mean any!) will be covered with that warranty with any defects from production.

Now if you pull that lens off the headlight to modify them in any way or to try and re-seal them, this will void the warranty due to tampering. We highly encourage anyone with an issue of any sort to please email the source/shop you ordered through or to contact Morimoto directly with any questions/concerns. :)

Otherwise, these housings are built to last as long as the trucks they're meant for. :) As always, I'm happy to go over any Qs in my PMs as well.

Mine were pealing and had a new set installed in no time. The warranty process was relatively painless.

same here. Early set from March 2020 and exchanged for a new gen 2 set in Feb. HR and Morimotos were great to deal with. Smooth warranty process. That's what counts.

It’s almost like the price increase is worth it vs competitors and a 2 yr warranty. Plus most people don’t even keep the vehicles 5 yrs

When I had my 2013, I got mine on sale for $700, normally $900 at the time. They are even higher for the 14-21's. If you think that is expensive, look at the price of them for the 4Runner.

They're only "purely aesthetic" till the sun goes down... And even that's not entirely correct.

The DRLs are much brighter than stock, allowing other drivers to better see YOU even without the main beams on. The turn indicator is also much more visible at ALL TIMES compared to tiny little orange bulb that Toyota provided.

They are not an inexpensive option, but they seem to offer the best performance, aesthetics, and quality without basically doubling the price point and jumping to Sequoia LEDs

Convince yourself not to spend the money however you like. Just dont expect people with actual experience to agree with the reasons you have invented. Lots of people jam LED bulbs into the halogen reflectors and convince themselves they are "just as good", so continue to insert your own reality wherever you choose.

I will continue enjoying superior lighting and visibility... Oh and I'll take the improved aesthetics as well! Tho I have to admit the aesthetics are purely subjective.
