We're actively shopping for a 2018 to 2021 Tundra, not lifted / stock height. It will park in our two car garage next to our 2017 Rav4. Because of the garage configuration, the truck has to park nose in, and the Rav4 parks nose out.

The bottom of the mirrors on our present truck, a stock height 2004 3/4 Ton Ram, clear the top of the Rav4 outside mirror by a few inches when pulling into the garage, but the stock Ram diesel truck sits higher than the stock 1/2 ton 4x4 Tundra.

I wonder if anyone with a stock height and stock wheel size 4wd 2.5 Gen Tundra might be willing to measure the distance from the pavement to the bottom of the passenger side mirror?

Happened to be by my truck when I saw your post come through. 53.25" is my measurement. Bottom of the PS mirror to the ground.

    I've got a stock 21 4WD.

Thank you! Much appreciated! Does your truck have the 18" or the 20" factory wheels?

    I have the 18" wheels.

The tire diameter/height of the stock tires is pretty much the same whether you have the 18" or 20" factory wheels. It's within a 1/10th of an inch, if I recall. That's why you don't need a speedo recalibration tool if you're jumping between stock sizes. Just mentioning...if that's your concern.

OK, thanks, KroppDuster, much appreciated! Re what you said about minimal difference in height between the OEM 18" and 20" wheels and tires, it would apprear that the 18" OEM tires have a higher profile than the 20" OEM tires.

Higher profile in the 18s accounts for 1" radius difference

According to the calculator, there is less than a .25" in height between the two stock sizes. Just sharing what the math says, unless I have the sizes wrong. :notsure:

    Your math is mathing today.

For OP, I guess the best way to figure out if it'll work is to park the Rav 4 in the garage and go test drive the a tundra and see how it fits in there.

Thanks, but it's unlikely that I will be able to do that. Reason being, I know exactly what I am looking for in a used 2.5 gen, so it will only be a stroke of good fortune if I happen to find what I want to buy locally. More likely, it will be out of state, something I have done 3 times previously to find the right vehicle.

It doesn't have to be the exact one you want to buy. Just a 2.5 gen with the same bed/cab configuration will do. It's just a test fit that's all. As long as it's factory height, it'll test the same as what the exact one you want to buy will do.

Can you get away with just folding the mirror in?

Sure, could, but since both vehicles come and go from the garage several times a day, since the Rav4 has neither power fold nor auto fold mirrors, would have to fold it manually in and then back out when leaving, on the passenger side. It would be inconvenient and would always carry the risk of forgetting to fold it.

So if the Tundra's side mirrors don't clear the rav4, are you not going to buy a tundra then?

Still planning on buying a Tundra. Thanks to Kroppduster for kindly providing me with a measurement from the ground to the bottom of his Tundra passenger side mirror. I measured from the ground to the top of the Rav4 mirror, and it appears we will have just barely under 4" of clearance between the two, so we should be good to go.

Understood, but with barely under 4" of clearance betweent he two vehicle outside mirrors, I will have a bit of cushion in the scenario. Plus, I am specifically shopping for a 2020-21 Platinum, 1794, or Limited. If my purchase ends up being a Platinum or 1794, I will have power folding mirrors, which I would fold every time I garaged the Tundra, leaving no risk of outside mirror contact between the two vehicles.
