Wonder if this is a test truck or somebody owns it?? Though they weren't coming until spring 2022??

I am low key liking the 22 more and more. I think the PRO will be the one to sway me, but I really hope they add a 6.5 bed. It would make R&D so much simpler having one. Also having 35’s fit without a lift seems like cheating

We can make excuses all we want, but the 2022 TRD Pro doesn’t live up to the hype in that testing. The 0-60 time could be traction issues, but that slow ass trap speed and leisurely 1/4 mile time are both fucking lame.

It is sure as hell not living up to a reported near $70,000 price tag.

I guess it might achieve some impressive fuel efficiency numbers, but at this point I have serious doubts.

It says North Texas. Toyota headquarters is in Plano I believe. Makes sense if it’s there

I see some dealers advertisement with a DLX trim? The specification sheet does not have that DLX any where. WHat's the story?

I wouldn't hold your breath for the 6.5 inch bed in the pro...at least for a few years

Motortrend article a couple months ago mentioned the hybrid in first gear upshifts to 2nd at 4200 rpms to help preserve the diff. I guess the base engine does the same at 5000 rpm even though redline is 5800. Looks like the power is there to get better times but its being held back in first.

But everyone go out and “unlock” this hidden potential to brag about, cause “better times!!” Then explode your diff and complain about it. Sorry, that was my foresight kicking in again. Who cares if it loses to the competitor by .1 or .3 seconds. They are all in a similar performance range, which is excessive already for what most of us will use the trucks for. A Toyota product that comes within 10-15% of another option will still get my money. Better product. IMHO anyway

White interior no thanks. One week going to job sites and they would not be white anymore. Did they say how much? I might’ve missed it.

Yep, from many of the reviews I am seeing, the Tundra is not winning many of the individual "tests", but seems to be performing very well as an overall package and doing well with many of the unmeasurable things.

Once more get out and mods start getting put on them, the alot of the haters and on the fencers will be swayed. All stock trucks look bad with the little tires in the giant wheel wells. 2.5 gen is just as goofy looking as the rest.
The few modded 3rd gens I've seen look way better than anything stock, even the trd pro.

I like that I won’t need to spend $3k+ to lift my truck again, plus all the time to install it all.

I want to make a lot of stuff for the new tundra. My first cat plate should be made today and I want to make a full skid plate package with a tow hook option. Plus while I am at it, maybe make some sliders and some other stuff

@ColoradoTJ speaking of the Pro, reminded me to ask. You gonna make a sub page for just the Pro like yall did for the 2.5?

That's where Toyota shines, the immeasurable areas. They're never gonna join the dick measuring contest the big 3 play. But what they will do is build a truck that doesn't rattle from 10 different spots after 20k, won't be in the shop 15 times a year, and won't be pushed all over the road when towing.

This doesn’t make any sense. I’ve seen my truck hit near redline in first gear. And how does shifting at lower rpm protect the diff? Peak torque is at a lower rpm and the diff will spin faster in higher gears anyway. Has anyone else tried any 0-60 runs with their truck yet?

your truck isn’t the Hybrid, so maybe the electric motor torque is what they are protecting the diff from. Or maybe it accelerates faster with the electric motor with the taller gear engaged VS leaving it in first longer.

If it indeed always shifts early, I’m willing to bet it’s for another reason, likely not to protect the rear diff. Surely the rear diff is up to the task of handling the torque the engine makes.

I believe I read the Hybrid has a larger diff to handle the additional torque. The larger diff is what decreases the ground clearance a bit.

What I mean is Motortrend also said the base engine (non-hybrid) shifts at 5000 rpm which isn’t the case. Maybe they have some preproduction vehicle with the incorrect tachometer or something.
