Poll: alcohol of choice

I've pretty much quit drinking beer. I find no matter what kind it is, it sits heavy in my stomach and puts me to sleep. Seriously, one beer and I'm ready for a nap. I won't say no to a rum and coke or a hard cider but primarily I'm a whiskey guy and love a good scotch or bourbon. Usually neat but I do like a bourbon on the rocks or Old Fashioned while grilling on a hot day. I'm not big on rye whiskey though and I won't touch Canadian whiskey.

I also never get drunk anymore. Been right shittered 3 times in my life and didn't really enjoy it. I especially didn't enjoy the morning after. At most I get a light buzz and maintain it. I stick to 2 drinks, maybe 3 if I'm feeling rowdy.

 

I quit like 5 years ago, but flor de Cana rum(18 year old) is what I used to drink. So good on the rocks or with some coke. When I used to go wake boarding at lake berryessa I would put it in a coke slurpee. If you like rum, you need to try it. You won’t regret it. When I went snow boarding it would be vodka Red Bull’s.

 

God save the sap that chooses white wine…

 

I only drink on days that end in “y”. Gin and tonics are my go-to drinks, but lately into making and perfecting craft cocktails.

I'm a non drinker now, used to be a beer drinker.
I prefer to smoke the reefers nowadays.
We need to start a thread for all us cannabis enthusiast, like strain of the day or something?
I know I'm not the only one on here that likes to smoke

The only beer I've ever drank was root beer, preferably Barq's. I'm glad to see so many teetotalers like me.

 

Tequila, on the rocks or w/Ginger Ale or cranberry. If its not 100% Blue Agave its just a mixto, most are crap, some are ok at best.

The American Free Trade agreement ruined tequila.

I have to have a beer while cooking or grilling, I usually want a glass of wine with dinner, either red- with red meat or white- with fish. Then, after dinner a bit, a shot of good whiskey, usually scotch but sometimes a bourbon.
Some meals require beer, like Mexican food or a crawfish boil.

Same here. I'll sit and play video games with my gf and drink beers all night while she sips on vodka and big red. I'll make us a bloody Mary to share every once in a while.

 

All right! I now officially regret every joke I ever laughed at regarding Texas! Plus, I must confess to running parts through my dishwasher too!

 

It's the best way to get multiple parts clean!

 

First choice: strong beer (6.5% and up) - IPAs, Belgian dubbels/trippels/quadruppels, barley wine, some red/amber/brown ales, the occasional porter

Used to drink the regular Captain Morgan when I was younger and it's still my go-to at a wedding or something like that when they don't have any other decent options.

 

I don't drink much anymore, but I like good Vodka.

As for beer, never liked the IPA's...but gimme a stout or a porter, or when it's hot out, an ice cold craft Pilsner.

I used to smoke a ton of weed...but gave that up on the last day of 2020.

Got to the point where my natural state was high, so it seemingly had no effect lol.

Pretty sure a couple tokes would get me wasted now.

Usually Michelob Ultra but I also love the occasional hurricane cocktail.

 

Daily, red wine. Weekends, some form of a Moscow Mule. Occasionally beer, but it has to be my favorite scofflaw that’s 10% ABV

 

Cognac Hennessy VS either mixed with sprite an lemon (KC Tea) or on the rocks or hell just straight from the bottle its so delicious an makes me feel happy playful.

I've tried the more expensive VSO and XO an can really say it's just slightly smoother but not the price difference smoother.
